bit more flung today! I've not been very systematic but I'm just flinging things as I come across them. It is helping me to "think tidy" though, and any decluttering is a good thing!

    18. old catalogues (to paper bin)
    19. old magazines (ditto)
    20. old notes (ditto - paperclips put in paperclip pot)
    21. toilet roll tubes gathered (bag in shed for DH)
    22. cardboard packaging (green bin)
    23. vase (to Charity Shop)
    24. unused perfume (to CS)
    25. jewellery (to CS)
    26 - 32 books (to CS)

decided I have to start using the exercise bike or it has to go (using it to hang clothes on doesn't count, does it? :D)

Really pleased with above and also made a list of first twenty things to sort out for ebay, probably not this month though, forgot it's ds2 s birthday this wk and have to make the cake and sort out party bags!
Put about 20 reduced rolls of wrap paper in loft but tidily for once, in a tub not slung there in my usual fashion! Think that's it for now, time to get boys in bed then sew name labels in their uniform, groan! x

  • Just spent about 2 hours de-cluttering, don't know why it took me so long but I have sorted through and got rid of most of a shoebox full of old costume jewellery and a couple of shelves full of junk, I now have 2 bags of stuff for charity shop, a load more things for recycling and quite a few more things in the bin. My hoarding OH shocked me when I asked him to sort out a box of his old junk and voluntarily put just about all of it in the bin! All my nagging must be paying off :rotfl:

Not such a productive day as had loads of planning to do for work (now done - hurrah!) but

    rabbit hutch collected by Freecycler
    gym ball collected by freecycler
BIL took loads of junk from our garden to burn
BIL took loads of old papers to burn
OH mended and tidied shoe cupboard. Only chucked one pair of shoes and couple of catalogues but it looks much better
I sorted the three drawers in kitchen getting rid of several old receipts and instruction manuals, along with several random bits of paper.
OH hung three pictures that have been sitting on top of bedroom drawers for months
DS1 has finally sorted out all the mounds of paper erupting from his bookcase, yay!

Back to work tomorrow so the decluttering will be on hold but hopefully we can keep up the momentum.

    Still to do:
    Books
Bed linen in drawer under bed
Photos into albums / onto CDs
Drawers in bookcase in living room
    Attic...gulp!

I am desperate to start decluttering but have been unwell the past month so have been doing little jobs - sorting out underwear drawers, sorting out make up bag, bathroom cupboard.

I need storage solutions - something that I can put under the bed for shoes, electrical stuff (hairdryer, straighteners, electric toothbrush charger etc etc), spare bedding etc. I need something with a lid so that pet hairs dont get into things and something that is going to be strong enough for long term use as I dont have enough room for more furniture with built in storage.

Any thoughts? And as ms as possible.

Today has been a bit quieter, but I've filleted my drawers and filled four carrier bags of clothes that I haven't worn for a while. Everything now fits into the top two drawers in an orderly fashion. We chucked them into the Oxfam bin at Mr S, along with a bag of assorted junk.
The wool which was sorted out at the weekend is waiting to be taken to the post. A couple of the smaller bags will go tomorrow, providing that I reach a post office before 5.30.
I've got some preparation for tomorrow ,but I'd like to clear my side of the bedroom before I go to bed, so that seeing 6.15am is less painful.
