I would like to join the 100 things in 10 days challenge please.
I have sorted out the corner next to my chair - a big job as I tend to leave everything there as it is to hand. So first I took away the little table, so I couldn't load stuff onto it. I have replaced with 2 boxes with lids to store bits I do need.
Therefore I have decluttered
4 toys that were in the box I am now using downstairs.
Pot doll that I haven't got round to using.
Old lamp behind my chair, out for recycling.
Handbag.
4 old sets of headphones.
Old massager, as now got a better one.
3 cd's/dvd's I no longer use.
(15 items so far = 85 to go).0 -
:hello:Hi all, any room for 1 more??, I desperately need to de clutter our house.
I live a two bed house with my o/h and 2 youngest dds 15 and 12, our 23 yr old is away at uni.
We have stuff everywhere as you can imagine, esp with 2- 3 girls in 1 room
Under the stairs is full of toys etc they haven't touched in ages.Their beds are hiding a mountain of goodness knows what. I have a book case groaning under the weight of unread books.
Our room is full of scrapbooking stuff I have brought, but got bored of, o/h has a wardrobe of clothes he never wears and I'm not sure would fit him anyway. We have 2 shoe boxes bursting full of unworn old shoes, and as for the loft .
My plan for this week is to
1. Send to the charity shop a large box of books my dd asked me to get rid of 12 months ago when she left for uni, I have listed them twice on ebay with no luck.
2. To resort through a box of what I can only describe as junk that came from a old kitchen unit I sold on ebay, I have gone through it once and kept all that we "needed" time to resort I think.
I know it is tiny footsteps, but enough is enough.
Wish me luck, because I am going to need it.
Good luck to everyone else. xxx0 -
wow everyone's been mega busy today! Please put me down for the 100 items, i will try my best lol. Well managed to do more than i thought today :
in - 4 new glasses my mum didn't want
bag of chocs from her she didn't want (such willpower lol)
out - 1,2 - sticker books 2 my mum to keep at hers for my toddler.
3 dvds i borrowed off mum yonks ago!
4 3 old scratched drinking glasses put out to go to tip
5-13 toys, books, hats etc into bag for charity shop.
14 quite a few old colouring books, work books boys never use anymore
to recycling
15 2 broken scooters (already replaced)
16 tons of plastic to tip
17 broken slide to tip (boys will not be happy!)
18 various other items, broken toys to tip
19 cardboard for recycling
20 broken ride on to tip (ds3 will b v upset when he finds out but the
wheels constantly fall off)
21 other bits from 4 drawers i sorted out today to bin, broken bits of
toys/crayons etc
22 bag of old kids coathangers to tip
think that was it today but will add more if i remember something i forgot! Quite a good day for decluttering really, have to decorate ds3's bedroom soon though and put a bigger bed in his little room so it means some of the things in his room now will have to be kept in other parts of the house - it's never ending lol!
Hello Deborah64 from another Deborah lol, i can sympathise, i have two boys in one small bedroom, we call it 'the pit', some days i walk in and walk straight out again as i can't bear to see the mess! Mine have also got loads of toys they don't use but whenever i suggest giving it away they sudenly can't bear to part with any of it - but by the following day they've abandoned it all again! I lost count of the number of times i put their nerf guns in their room today, only to find they'd carried them downstairs and left them there again!grocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000 -

Hi all, thought I better join this thread as I spent a panicked hour this evening trying to find my passport - which I eventually did, in the box cupboard!
I actually don't have a lot of clutter, but what I do have is very disorganised so my main aim is to streamline, get rid of what I don't need to keep and organise what I do.
Tonight's tasks:
- Bag up the old clothes on top of the wardrobe for the charity shop
- Went through the big "to be sorted" paperwork stack. This is now the "to be filed" stack and is much smaller.
- Cleaned up some general junk in the passport quest
Result:
- Two big bags of clothes for donation
- One bag of non-identifiable paperwork for recycling, plus a small pile of paperwork for shredding
- Black sack of general rubbish (plastic wrappers, etc)
Have a stack of books to decide whether to donate or sell. Might check with my local library if they accept donations, as they're mainly non-fiction so would be useful to others.
Now to finish reading previous posts. Good luck all and well done on progress so far! :money:0 -
Can I join this challenge please? I have done some decluttering today. Have reclaimed some of the space on the bathroom shelves. Kitchen to tackle this week.0

Heya gang
A desparate working mum living in a massively cluttered and disorganised house. Going to try to be more organised with all things old-style and hope i can be disciplined enough to do more and talk less this year!
Have realised recently how much easier life is ona daily basis when your house is clear and orgaised and you have some routines. So have started to do away with things we don't or havent used and plan to keep on going right through 2011
Out
7 black bags of rubbish - lots of bulky things that I "could" use one day but dont really need!
8 charity shop bags in my front room - ready to go in the car tomorrow
Sorted out a couple of the kitchen cupboards as well and got rid of a few old or stale things
In
Nothing!!0
