Well, the tree has been taken down and all the decorations put away in the loft for next year so the house looks a lot less cluttered. Hopefully someone is going to pick up the cake tins I've junked today and I'll be sorting out my baking cupboard to see what I can tidy up in there. It needs a clear out and I need to work out what I've got baking-wise. I'm fairly sure some of it has to go :s

Other outs: Old magazine and my birthday cards from last year that were taking up space. Lots of dust as the hoovering was done.

    Hello

    Can I join in please?
The place isn't too bad but I still have some really stubborn rubbish dumps around the house which I need to tackle.

    1. The fitted wardrobe in our bedroom.
    2. My "filing cabinet" :rotfl:
    3. A chest of drawers with wool, material and xmas stuff in it - all need culling.
    3. Books - I want to try and get rid of one bookcase.

This will do for a start but my first job is to sort the piles of stuff that were moved/hidden for Christmas and try and home all the kid's presents. Thursday I will take down the decorations and then I can get on with the biggies listed above.

And I haven't even mentioned the sheds:eek:! A job for the Spring and a small skip I think...

Get rid of 100 things in 10 days
Who's up for getting rid of 100 things in 10 days starting now? Here's my bits so far:-
    1. Furniture be gone! (friends)
    2. Old picture (charity)
    3. Old foot spa (charity that accepts and tests electrical items)
4.5.6.7. Used up toiletries as part of that challenge, sadly not recyclable (bin))
8.9. More toiletries used up (recycling)
    10.11.12. Recycling from bedroom/bathroom (recycling)
    13. Rubbish from bedroom.
    :T

The cluttered bedroom window sills are staring at me - think I need to just remove everything and sort through. :A
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.

    In today:
    - New toiletries for DH as he needed body butter, my S&G one smelled too girly for him. Picked up a coconut gift set cheap at The Body Shop's sale, so he got a few bonus things.

    Out:
    - Two carrier bags old fiction books (about a dozen, I would guess) to the charity shop that didn't get any swap requests in the past few months on RISI. It's nice to have a nearly clear shelf!

Can't get into DS1's underbed cupboard until he is back at school, so last night while watching TV I cleared out my jewellery box/drawer.

    Out

A couple of necklaces - CS
A couple of watches - no batteries, but I don't like them enough to get new batteries - CS
Various boxes from jewellery (why was I keeping these??) - recycling
An old pair of DS1's glasses - put to one side to go to charity
A really old, squashed poppy - bin

    IN

    Nothing

    Decluttering - January 2024 - 89 physical objects, over 700 emails/digital decluttering 🎊 🏅🏅
  • I am slowly putting items on Ebay and getting some good prices for them. I am saving money by using boxes or packaging that I already have in the house and wrapping them in brown parcel paper - I am decluttering the boxes and getting money for it!

I am going to tidy my living room in a minute as I am starting my exercise/diet today and there is no room for me to boogie away to Coleen Nolan!

Hello Deborah64 from another Deborah lol, i can sympathise, i have two boys in one small bedroom, we call it 'the pit', some days i walk in and walk straight out again as i can't bear to see the mess! Mine have also got loads of toys they don't use but whenever i suggest giving it away they sudenly can't bear to part with any of it - but by the following day they've abandoned it all again! I lost count of the number of times i put their nerf guns in their room today, only to find they'd carried them downstairs and left them there again![/QUOTE]

:hello: dobs, your 2 little boys sound just like my 2 big girls lol, under the stairs is full of their stuff and everytime we go to tidy it my youngest will find something she "loves" and has got to keep, and as for stuff that keeps reappearing when it has been put away done get me started.
I have been very naughty today :o, my 15 yr old was selling some old playstation games, anyway she left has left on the stairs for a week, i have asked everyday for a week, so today they have gone in the bin. They wasn't any good and had no cases, but she had been warned,
MOTHER IS ON THE DECLUTTER PATH!!!!
  • I've started to go through one of the under the bed draws & have binned 2 carrier bags full of rubbish. I have a few things for the charity shop. Will do more tomorrow as trying to declutter with a 4.5 year old in the room was proving rather difficult! He's back at school tomorrow so then my mission starts in earnest.
