I've got 61 items listed on ebay so far, including 16 that haven't been re-listed, (i.e. new things I've decided to get rid of) and put 25 items in CS box, including 10 vinyl albums, (which I've not listened to for years and probably wouldn't listen to again) 8 CDs, and 1 of my thimbles as I've finally decided I don't really need three of them, lol! Also binned yet another internet disc and recycled the cover.

Going to visit MIL tomorrow, as she's just come out of hospital after finally having gallstones removed, so don't know how much I'll get done, but hopefully I'll get some more things listed on ebay when we get back.
Hope everything is ok :A Well done on 61 things items on ebay :T

Had a bit more success with the decluttering over the last week:j, have moved from just tidying the clutter to actually getting rid of things, ok so the things that have gone are not large things, but at least it is progress!

Sold my first items on ebay last week, and have a few things on there again at the moment (no bids yet!), as its free listing weekend, need to get more stuff on there!:D

oh dear, all my good intentions to spend the day decluttering......

I had to go into town for some bits for our visitors to eat tomorrow, and ended up buying another 8 storage boxes from Rymans (but they are Really Useful), 2 new jigsaws (for me for Mother's Day from the girls), and a quilt cover from the charity shop to cut up to make cloth bags from!

Although this stuff will temporarily clutter up the house, as soon as I get back to tidying my craft room again it will all disappear into the storage boxes stacked neatly into the cupboards, the quilt cover will be housed with the rest of the fabric, and the jigsaws will go in the top of my wardrobe along with all the other ones!

However, I am still decluttering and have so far sorted out about 70 odd rubber stamps that I no longer need/use. I've also yet to go through my wardrobe, the bookcases and DVDs, so I'm going to find 40 things by tomorrow night. It just might take a bit of time, that's all!
A place for everything and everything in its place loopyc - thats what they say. Good storage is an investment. Well done on sorting 70 rubber stamps - are you going to sell them? :)

I've managed my 40 for the weekend challenge, mostly from the craft room:

7 empty boxes - incl. tea bag boxes and weetabix box saved for altered art projects now abandoned :o
2 very large tatty packing boxes
    6 mangled and torn files/plastic folders/filing pouches
    Pile of old christmas cards
4 empty tins - saved for storage but not useful sizes
    Assorted pens and pencils
3 lots of binding combs - offered these on freecycle but no takers
3 old and bit wonky video tapes
    1 badge maker
5 old children’s books (another aborted altered art project :o)
1 boxed set of Laurie Lee books
    8 asstd pkts/tins from the kitchen – things I don’t like and won’t use
1 tin evap milk put by for my sis, bought instead of condensed - I hate evap!

didn't do as well for the charity shop as I'd hoped, only the books and the badge maker; will carry on filling the box over the next week.

good challenge, thanks mineallmine, it got me going today and now I've made a bit of progress will be carrying on with it, might do some more later
off back to read the thread and see how we all did :T

Have you tried using MusicMagic for selling CD's, DVD's and games?

Might make you a few more pennies.

    Hi All

Achieved my target of 40 items - nearer 50 in the end - spare room looks great & will be a much nicer place for DS to practice his keyboard - it must have been like playing in a cupboard before.

Found that DS' playhouse is still leaking (thought I'd managed to fix it) & some more stuff that I have stored there was water-damaged (luckily most of it was OK). But at least that has made me decide absolutely that I'm not even going to attempt a bootsale this year - I'm just going to give it all to the CS.

Even though I made good headway I felt a bit overwhelmed by how much there is left to do but I feel a bit better now I've read all of your posts - especially mineallmine - thanks for the call out.

Need to order the storage I've planned to buy and get someone to fix the roof of the playhouse & shed that and start the process of getting all my stuff to the CS (I don't have a car so it will take a number of journeys...

    In
    Duvet set
    Out
    1-13 Clothes CS
    14-30 Books CS
    31-35 Toys CS
    36-40 Bric-a-Brac
    40-44 water-damaged items to bin
44-48 clothes & books for friends
+ wheely bin full of recycling

    ...phew

She wasn't feeling too well, was in bed with an upset stomach so we didn't stay long, but she only had the op last Monday so it's still early days.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've not been too impressed with them tbh, because the most they've offered is 50p for anything I've tried on there, so I've sold them on ebay and got at least £1 and usually a lot more. For example a CD I sold a couple of weeks ago, I was offered 30p for it and I sold it on ebay for £2.50. I know ebay and paypal take their cut, and the money isn't as instant, but I don't mind waiting if it means I get a bit more money.

I managed to get another 34 items listed on ebay today, (and got bids on 3 items already) but not got rid of anything else, although OH did take all recycling to the recycling centre this morning, so all papers etc have gone. I'm not back to work until Tuesday so hopefully I'll get some more done tomorrow.

Managed to sort out my visible paperwork over the weekend (and a bag of paperwork that had been shoved in a cupboard!)

Not much else to report, its getting there slowly - desperately trying to keep the house tidying, washing up and laundry up to speed - things are much better than they were a month ago.

With the nicer weather, it definately gives me more incentive to get things sorted.

Major jobs for the next few weeks include clearing the computer desk, taking all my docs off the computer and DH has got to work out how to move his itunes etc... Sorting through clothes is also a major operation and will be on-going - some will go into cash for rags and some will be car booted. DH has some levis that he wants to e-bay too.

The computer desk and the computer are being donated to our local charity and we are having a book case in place of it. Things should be alot more organised once we have the bookcase instead of the desk and the room won't feel as cramped - as since we had the new sofa bed its been a lot tighter in there.
