Hi all, I think my de cluttering has started to rub off on my 12 year old dd,
she went upstairs to watch a dvd, few minutes later she came down to tell me she was sorting out her clothes in the wardrobe. I left her too it and she came down with just over half a bin liner of old clothes that don't fit.
She then announced she was getting her shoes on to take it to our local charity shop which is less than a 5 minute walk away.
Now if I had asked her to do it, it would have ended up with her sulking, I am so proud of her. I guess a shopping trip is now in order lol.

I'm in for 40 too - had planned to declutter anyway this but I like having a target .

    Dizzy - Beautiful baby

Deborah - Well done to your DD - I'm very impressed. Yesterday DS (10), hoovered for me without me asking - I honestly nearly cried... If he started decluttering & taking things to the CS I'd probably pass out :rotfl:

Had a bit more success with the decluttering over the last week:j, have moved from just tidying the clutter to actually getting rid of things, ok so the things that have gone are not large things, but at least it is progress!

Sold my first items on ebay last week, and have a few things on there again at the moment (no bids yet!), as its free listing weekend, need to get more stuff on there!

Sorted through some of the bags and boxes in the spare room and managed to get rid of bits of paper work that could have been recycled ages ago but felt that they needed to come with me when I moved! No wonder it took so many boxes to move house, just moved loads of rubbish from one place to another! :eek:Also found loads more clothes that I have not worn in the last year (as they have been hidden in the spare room) so figure I dont need them so they have gone on my ebay pile!

Anyways just seen the 40 items challenge, so going to see what I can do, been out all morning and out most of the day tomorrow so don't think I will make the 40 but it helps me to have a target in mind! So after a quick cuppa will get on with the decluttering!:D

I've got 61 items listed on ebay so far, including 16 that haven't been re-listed, (i.e. new things I've decided to get rid of) and put 25 items in CS box, including 10 vinyl albums, (which I've not listened to for years and probably wouldn't listen to again) 8 CDs, and 1 of my thimbles as I've finally decided I don't really need three of them, lol! Also binned yet another internet disc and recycled the cover.

Going to visit MIL tomorrow, as she's just come out of hospital after finally having gallstones removed, so don't know how much I'll get done, but hopefully I'll get some more things listed on ebay when we get back.

Thanks for a great thread. I want to join too. My first aim is to sort out our 2 sheds. I shall start with baby steps and do one box every weekend to be finished by Easter Monday.

Yesterday I dried my first washing outside so cleaned the line.

    Good luck to you all.

Well major decluttering on going this morning. A car load has gone to the tip so far and it is already partially filled again. Have had to empty the hoover twice this morning after I emptied the dogs cage and cleared all bits out at the bottom of it. Should point out that he likes nothing better than pulling the stuffing out of his soft toys and that if he ever finds anything anywhere in house like socks, shoes, hairbrushes etc then he takes them to his cage bed to destroy them! Think it's his attempt to declutter ot train kids to put things away or at very least shut their bedroom doors!
