I have just found this thread and desperately need to de-clutter.
I need the 30 things this weekend challenge.
I'm feeling quite motivated at the moment, hope it lasts, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

. I haven't posted for a while but have been doing really well. Last weekend we went through our fiction books and took 90 to charity, 20 set aside for Amazon. I have another 40 books from our home office to take to the charity shop tomorrow too. I also decluttered my jewellery and have about 10 items for charity and 4 to sell, lots of broken and odd bits went in the bin. However, I am still feeling overwhelmed with the amount there is to do in the house. We built two double wardrobes in our new loft room to put our excess things in, these are already full and we now have about 10 boxes of stuff along the walls in that room, and 12 massive boxes of stuff in our dining room too.
I had a valuation earlier in the week, and ended up just stuffing things in carrier bags and putting them in the new cupboards to hide the mess
.
We are busy this weekend, but if I can do 30 things at least I know I am heading in the right direction, right?
I won't count the 30 books, but will count anything else.
1 - empty travel size shower gel bottle into recycling (I have been using up my sample size items to declutter the bathroom cabinets, which have stayed decluttered since I've done them!)MoneyQueen wrote: »I am also up for the 30 things challengesilvermaid wrote: »I have just found this thread and desperately need to de-clutter.

Hi, I would also like to join in.
I actually started this on Wednesday as my Dad was coming to stay and I needed to tidy the spare room. SO heres how I've done so far;
Wednesday
1 black sack in the bin and 2 carrier bags of stuff.
Thursday
Put some stuff on freegle, hopefully it will go.
Friday
Digital camera collected from Freegle.
Listed more items for freegle.
Saturday
Charity bag came through the door and so far I have filled 3 bags, mainly clothing but also going through the spare room again.
Drawing board, box of economy pockets and tapestry frame getting picked up from freegle.
Listed more items for freegle.
I am having 5 minutes and then will get back on and do some more. I must not forget to have lunch, I don't always bother when I'm busy doing things.

Hmm.. well a week into my declutter, I appear to have got no where. I have not really managed to get rid of anything, have found I am just tidying up the clutter!!!
I have managed to list a couple of items on ebay and one has a bid so that will go at the weekend (only small things, clothes I no longer wear). Have a couple more things I can put on later, but need to really attack my clothes and get my wardrobe more steamlined!
But have not even been into the spare room that is stuffed full of things, and am finding if something does not have a home I am just dumping it in the spare room. Really need to buck up the courage to get rid of stuff!!!
But on a positive note, the weather here is good today so going to get as much washing done and dried as I can today, and I AM GOING TO PUT IT ALL AWAY!!!!:j
I was just going to say the same thing, felt pleased with myself fot tidying the garage until i realised i had just moved things around not actually got rid of anything!GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!0 -
Spent the morning blitzing the living room - family gathering tomorrow for DS1's 14th birthday  so we need space for 11 to sit down! Managed 2 black bags for rubbish, plus 2 carrier bags taken to CS - plus cake, trifle and jelly made. Really looking forward to decluttering those tomorrow:rotfl:. Short break cos my back's killing me, but more to do yet.
I've got a horrible feeling though that once everything's decluttered I'm going to have more time for hobbies - and as a cross-stitcher, I just KNOW that's going to involve adding to my stash!0 -
