  • Not sure if I'll do much decluttering this afternoon but this morning I managed to flatten a load of boxes that had been randomly chucked in the garage. They're all bundled up for removal by the council. I aso emptied the large cupboard in our garage and repacked all the strong boxes (for house moves) we store in there so we can actually get in there and fit more boxes in. The garage still needs lots of work, but at least you no longer collide with a potential avalanche of boxes on opening the door.

We have books and books and books in this house too. I've had a Kindle since last summer and I got hubby one for his birthday this week, so maybe I can convince him to get rid of a few of his less read books.......

Gonna sort the kitchen drawer (!) today and possibly the ones in the coffee table too.

I have also decided to work our way through the freezers this week too.
    1 ruler
    1 pencil (broken)
    1 pencil sharpener
    1 takeaway menu
    1 almost dead sellotape roll
    4 buttons
    1 rubber/eraser
    1 alcohol hand gel
    3 rubber gloves
1 nearly 3 year old wage slip
1 paper clip and 1 battery that may or may not be dead later.....
    Illegitimi non carborundum.

  • Get well soon to all the poorly declutterers.

I think I am scraping the barrel and there isn't too much left to get rid of in my house. But I did manage some odds and ends.

Pink t-shirt, worn once to run Race for Life (I don't like pink, will never wear again) - CS
The pink giveaway goodie bag I got at the Race for Life - CS
Umbrella - didn't even know I had it, and already have two - CS
Various old hotel toiletries (must be DH bringing them home, I don't) - bin
Few old plastic bags and old, tatty make up bag - bin
    Handbag (too small) - CS

I also sorted out some clothes to take to our local nearly new shop - she will be accepting spring/summer stuff soon. I will only get a small amount of cash (5 tops) but they are good quality and hardly worn.

DS2 has some stuff he has grown out of - Hollister tops mostly - I was wondering about selling on Preloved (don't fancy Ebay) - does anyone have any tips, and would stuff like that sell?
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

    Decluttering - January 2024 - 89 physical objects, over 700 emails/digital decluttering 🎊 🏅🏅
  • I'm taking up the challenge, although late in the day.

I'm off, and will let you know how I get on later.
