I've given up asking OH to sort through his stuff! I just do it for him now!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
And when he asks where X is (and I have got rid of it) I tell him I don't know.......well I'm not lying am I?
I don't know where it is........ just that it's not here anymore....;);):jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Cycling Yorkie - I've already been accused of 'hiding' the indigestion tablets (well, I only had a tiny piece of Christmas pud whilst himself had a good half of it, and by the way the indigestion tablets are in the same drawer as the first aid stuff, instead of on the windowsill...). I've tried grabbing a pile of OH's stuff and waving it in front of him and saying 'do you want to keep this or can it be recycled. Tell me now!' but that usually results in him spending half an hour perusing each item.0

I am proud to declare that I have decluttered all the areas in my house once :j
It's such a nice feeling
I will have a go again in all the rooms. I am sure I will find more items that we don't need.
Also plan to clean every room very thoroughly this time as I go along so may take longer than the first time

I took a bag of clothes to a charity shop earlier in the week. Today I've sorted out four pillow cases and a sheet which can go to the textile recycling bank (next weekend) and I've started off a new charity shop bag with a top that is too big for me.
I've also sold four items on Ebay, so these will be posted this week.0 -
I should really re-home the set of Encyclopaedia Britannica I own.. snag is, where? Too good for recycling, too big for charity shop... I may try Freecycling it, anyone ever re-homed Ency. Brits?Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

Well spent all weekend rearranging the books - only bit left to do is reshelving the ones taken to the attic bedroom.
Unfortunately by 3 o'clock I had to give up as I was suffering badly from all the dust I'd created- nose was blocked/streaming, eyes puffy and red, head pounding, wheezy etc. Ended up just having a long bath and was in bed by 8:30.
Got up this am and nose has mostly settled down but I feel like I've had a good workout. Filled another two bags of books yesterday which got dropped off this morning.
Next job to tackle is the bathroom - I'm putting off the cot lofts as long as possible!0 -

Well done :j:T
This is what I do, it's like concentric circles - I start by going through the house and doing the obvious stuff, then I go through it again, and get the less obvious stuff and by the time I go through for the last time I am really poking about in the nooks and crannies, finding stuff. It's amazing that despite doing this pretty much continuously, I can still find stuff.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

11 items posted this morning. Happy days
. At least 7 more to go when auctions finish or people pay. Why do people do that? Buy and then not pay. 3 items ended on Friday and they've not paid yet. Bummer. Oh and made a loss on 1 item as I forgot and sent it 1st class.
Have learnt and am writing on the packet now whether they are 1st or 2nd. Silly school girl error.
Need to get on and paint the dining room now. Terrified of getting paint on the carpet, DH would kill me. At least I can move his guitars into lounge.
No sign of bead. Resigned myself to the fact that it's gone forever. Lets hope I don't get bad karma for being thoughtless and hasty, rather good karma for donating such a beautiful item.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Y, shows how much money we have wasted over the years on the stuff that we didn't need!!
I am also planning to clean/ sort/ repair/ decorate absolutely everything in a room as I go along this time so it would take me longer this time but hopefully I would have a nice/ "feel good" house at the end of it. I have two months as want my house to be ready by the time it's warm so can spend the summer enjoying outside rather than cleaning the house
