  • Well thanx Martin.
Its nice to know you are taking an interest!

Unfortunately it took people like me to chase this up over the last 6 months, where were you then?

Although you actively promote Uswitch you failed to take an active role when the Champagne offer went t!ts up. I m a big fan of you and your site but after 6 months of challenging Uswitch without your intervention, I find it wrong that you jump on the bandwagon and send out a message after Uswitch have been challenged. I.E.

I struggled for 6 months with Uswitch and got fobbed off.
    Contacted you.
    Got no further forward.
    Challenged the CEO of Uswitch.
    Got a response.
    Posted it on your forum.
Then you try to take the credit.

    Wrong!

    Wrong!

    Wrong!

Had you represented us from the start and got the result then great!
As it is we have had to chase this uo ourselves and you put out this message. For me it is 6 months too late!

OK folks, I hope Uswitch are now getting up to date. I've been doing some behind the scenes talking and to be fair to them - there is no intention not to get people the champagne. How do i put this politely, this have been more a question of poor delivery (if you forgive the pun) than poor intentions.

There's a new system in place for new champagne people that should make it more simple.

Thanks to Uswitch for posting on here.

If Martin answered every ones complaint he certainly would not have the time to carry out the work he does in a calm and collective manner and get the positive responses in the main. I would like to know how you came to the conclusion that Martin jumped on your band wagon. Simply if a problem is flagged he will act behind the scenes. He is not a God dispite his ever growing halo for the great work he does.

Whilst here just like to wish all a very happy christmas and a less skint new year .

  • Hi
First of all I take your point and to some degree agree with you. I did not mean to be disrespectful to Martin or this site.
Let me say it wasn't just my 'bandwagon'
There were many of us pushing Uswitch for many months and a lot of behind the scenes work has gone on without posting on this site.
I had 7 members of my family scattered across the UK in a similar position, all receiving the same false assurances.

Personally, I spoke to Jevon Cato on several occasions, sent emails, letters and still got nowhere.

The lack of communication from Uswitch was their downfall.

When I involved MSE Archna she also hit a brick wall with them.

Unfortunately it took several people to write to the CEO of Uswitch, outlining the problems and quoting this forum.

Surprisingly we all received our champagne within days.
I also received a letter of apology direct from the CEO.

Also, behind the scenes, Jevon Cato has been replaced and Customer services are trying to avoid any more disgruntled customers contacting their CEO. They are also trying to avoid any adverse publicity and have embarked on a damage limitation exercise.

Obviously, I realise that without this forum and its ethos of consumer revenge, we may not have pushed this issue as far as we did.

Personally the key for me was mentioning this forum in my correspondence to the CEO. This seems to have stirred up a hornets nest as Uswitch even contacted MSE to post assurances on this very forum.

To cut a long story short this is a very powerful site and although as you correctly state, Martin may not be God, I just wish he had used his influence and contacted Uswitch sooner.

Finally, to those of you working behind the scenes, (many of whom have not posted here), Thank you for your support.

Also thanks to those at Uswitch and MSE for finally getting the ball rolling.

    Merry Xmas one and all.

I had just written a long post explaining how I've been contact with Uswitch ever since I first read some haven't got their champagne, how if you read the first post here, its from me having sorted out a system I hope would've worked.

And how I'd recently informed Uswitch I'd drop all links to the champagne deal unless a system was sorted. Yet then I realised how farcical it was. Uswitch had delivery problems, consumers and I complained. We've pushed to get a system that worked. The vast majority of people got their champagne, but some were lost in the system.

To be honest if that's the best I can do with this site, or I felt the need to claim credit or jump on a bandwagon for that, I think it'd be time to think about retiring!

It seems Uswitch have been partly blaming Direct Wines for the delivery problems, which is (unfairly?) poor publicity for the latter, who are major mail order wine suppliers.

Had I used uSwitch, I would also be concerned about having relied on the comparison data, as per this Guardian article (further to the Mirror article COS posted above).

  • I was going to switch about 4 months ago, and cancelled. Yet today I received some champers! I am concerned, as talking to my neighbour she changed through U switch about a month ago - and hasn't had hers. It was addressed to me by name, but I'm worried - as we're staying with our supplier until a !!!! up is sorted to our satisfaction! (Otherwise we owe and will have to fork out a huge sum!)

Is there a way I can find out my U switch membership number on their web site? May be blind?!!!!! Joined up originally three years ago - so don't have the original email.

    TIA

My daughter changed supplier in September and has still not received her Champagne! Our e-mail in Dec received no reply. How do we contact
    MSE Archna??
  • Simon Piper is right in what he says, they've been inundated and it wasn't uSwitch's fault. Plus you won't receive champagne until the switch has been confirmed by your new supplier (to stop people scamming and claiming champers they're not entitled to - eg. switching then cancelling and getting champagne anyway), which could take up to 3 months. This is stated in the Ts&Cs. Doesn't really excuse the hugely late deliveries but it was out of uSwitch's control and was certainly no !!!! up on their part. I appreciate this doesn't satisfy those of you who have waited an unacceptable amount of time for your bubbly but thought I'd let you know the true story.

And Simon Piper is beautiful. :happyhear But this probably doesn't help either.
