By the sounds of it, ring them up, sloppy adminstration is to blame, you should still get the points

don't apply for the sony card if you want an mp3 player, i clicked on the link and signed up, used the card on the day after it arrived but i didn't get the 8,200 points required for the mp3 player, all i got was a measely 2,000. would cancel if not for the interest free period upto feb 07.

we were all in the same boat. Read the mbna thread on this forum and you will see that a quick phone call to sony fixes it and you can then ordered your mp3 player like myself and lots of others already have...

  • Sony Card Freebies
Ref my post #97 on 26/11/06 - Got one out of the two freebies that I requested today, 7 days rather than the 28 they allow.
Sony seem to have it all together, which leaves the mess-ups at MBNAs door! No surprise there then!
Just waiting for freebie No.2 now then.
  • cool looks like mine could turn up this week then!
  • Hi screenqueen,
I applied for this sonycard through the right link for the 8,200 points, and when I got the card there were only 2,000 pulsebeats on it.
I phoned to ask, and was told they would be added on my first statement, so I waited but only 2,000 were on it. I phoned MBNA again and explained exactly why I had applied - in order to get the MPD3 player for my son - and they couldn't have been nicer (I had been shopping big time on the card for Christmas and all petrol), and a short while later the full pulsebeat quota was on the card
    HOWEVER
Has anyone worked out how to get past the 0870 number used for redeeming their pulsebeats on? Thats the cheeky sneaky bit, that is how they must be paying for it....
I have hunted for a bit using all MBNA's numbers on the saynoto0870 website, and I cannot find a groundline so far. Any other clues?

Received a letter from them, dated a full 3 weeks earlier saying they need extra information and had tried to contact me.

Needless to say I didn't bother going ahead with the application.
