It's essentially a low carb diet but more flexible (and healthy!) than Atkins. Link! I did it a couple of years ago and lost a load of weight, my skin looked great, my hair looked great, I had tonnes of energy... why did I stop?!:doh: It takes a fair bit of getting into the mindset and you need to be good at planning ahead because it's difficult to just grab stuff on the go if you forget to make lunch or whatever, especially for me as I'm a picky eater, but I'd recommend it to anyone.
I think there's still a big thread about it on the Health and Beauty board, which is where I heard about it in the first place! Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I did 3 days and the got a stomach bug from OH, have felt awful for the last 3 days

I'd just done Level 2 Day 1 on Thursday and was involved in a car accident yesterday lunchtime so not Shredding for the next couple of days as my leg, neck and back are so painful. Might go swimming early next week and get back into it slowly - might have to go back to Level 1

Hi ladies. Do you mind if I join in? I read your comments on the dvd yesterday and decided to give this a go. I need to do something.
A couple of years ago I let the weight pile on without really noticing until suddenly I realised I was a size 16. I refused to go any bigger and I lost 3 stones, getting down to a size 12 for the first time since uni. I'm 5'9" so was quite happy with that.
I managed to keep it off for 2 years but now it's starting to creep up a bit, to the point where my size 12 jeans are getting a bit squeezy round my middle. I keep most of my weight around my tummy which is the least heathy place to keep it and the hardest place to lose it from.
When I bought my dress I was between sizes for it so went for the smaller size, as the dress was fine in the bust and hips and I just needed to lose half an inch from my waist. I just about did it, but then hurt my back, and then Christmas came and then I hurt my back again and I've not made it back to the gym since the end of November. Diets don't work for me as the second I say I'm on a diet, my body demands junk food. Plus, when I lose weight I lose it from my feet, wrists, hands and calves rather than where I need it to go from so I need to do something targeted.
I've got the DVD now and I'm probably going to start tomorrow. Any tips/hints? I'm so unfit I'll probably die.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
welcome to the fray codemonkey! Not sure what hints/tips I'd suggest... "Keep going" is my mantra. It's surprising how much more your body can do than you think it can. I started on the beginner ones - watching Anita, and then gradually started following Natalie - the advanced one, and dropping back to beginner's if I was finding it too difficult.
I'm on Day 2 of Level 2 now, and firmly back to following Anita
I also tried out climbing last night for the first time. My arms and shoulders feel exhausted today, but it was great fun
On a wedding note - under 100 days... wooooo!0 -
Wow, just did level 2 day 1... When she said she wanted me to feel like I was going to die, I really did! I only did 6 days of level 1 but I went to the gym on the in between days so I figured I'd give it a go. Feel *much* different after, veeeery hot and sweaty and gulped a drink down straight away. So I figure this is probably the right level for now!
Tried my wedding dress on earlier, fits (well, I'd say does up rather than fits, it's a bit lumpy :$) everywhere but over the bust now. Progress!I have spread my dreams under your feet;

You probably already know this, but as you've hurt your back previously I'd advise against doing the abs work where you lift chest and legs together, or both legs together. I had a serious back injury a few year years ago and those things trigger problems for me. I use a fitness ball and slightly modify all the abs workI have spread my dreams under your feet;

Actually, I didn't think about that at all Senor Feesh. Thanks. You've probably saved me an inury.
I'll have to have a wee watch through and see if they can be modified pilates style, because my abs really need work.
Are you meant to do this everyday? I'll need to think of sneaky way of getting OH out of the way.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Oh my word. Just done this for the first time. Taking your ladies words of advice I put on my sports bra and I'm glad I did. I thought I was reasonably fit. I was wrong! Halfway through the warm-up I was out of breath. I knew I was in trouble. It got to the point where I was welcoming the screaming pain in my abs because at least it meant I got to lie down and stop jumping around.
I wanted to hate Jillian with her cheery words and ability to talk whilst jumping around but the truth was that I couldn't hear her over the noise of everything in my sitting room bouncing up and down.
Weirdly, by the second cycle I was starting to enjoy it. When it finished I was disappointed it was over.
I then felt so energised I did 30 minutes on an exercise bike.
I may regret this tomorrow.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Hello,! Just wondered if I could join in please? I bought the video and am now on day 6 (should have been day 7 today, but I missed a day when I had to work two shifts at work and didn't have time.
I thought I was quite fit, and some bits I find quite easy, others lots harder, but I HATE the push-ups- how does anyone even do these? They seem impossible!
Sorry, just had to get that out of my system...apart from that, I think it is going well!0
