Frames for £1 are invariably crud.

I would be interested to see what the delighted customers have to say 6 months down the line whan the nosepads have fallen off and the colour has faded from their purchase.

Invariably? i have a pair of rimless specs that are over 3 years old. I bought the wire frame online for £1.50 - shipping cost more - and had it glazed. Despite 3 years of being frequently knocked off or grabbed by a toddler and falling onto concrete etc. the frame and lenses are in fine fettle and the only negative is the plastic sheath on the arms has come off finally.

Expecting a critical comment I was surprised when an ophthalmic optician friend actually complimented me on their quality.

As I'll now be looking for some new rimless/semi-r what's your site? From your name it appears you'll stock what I want.

To be fair if you get a painted or matt colour the frames should be OK, but the shiny colours are sometimes poor with the paint flaking off when the frame is flexed as the colour is applied as a thin film. Also people with certain skin types report the frames 'rotting' due to the acid in the skin particularly on the insides of the arms.

Our site is [my posting name].com but also have a look at onestopglasses.co.uk , ours are mainly stainless steel with titanium being currently added, theirs include more of the budget options.

Has anyone ever purchased glasses from https://www.buycheapglasses.co.uk?
After being to D&A for my free eyetest. I tried on some glasses and then came home and searched them on the net. I have found the pair i want on the above site and would save £200 if i go ahead with the internet purchase.
Just a bit cautious as i have never brought glasses on the net before and cannot believe the amount i will save.
Just want to know if anyone might know this company?

    Thanks

Got glasses today from zenni optical....great glasses...normal pair and sunglasses/tinted..all in including postage cost less than £20. Will be buying a few more pairs but be prepared to wait 2ish wks for your order.

I recently ordered some prescription sunglasses from fasionspecsdirect.com, I had problems ordering the sunglasses tint online so I e-mailed them and they rang me to take the order over the phone. I've never ordered glasses online before and have to say I was very impressed with the service and the glasses, which arrived 4 days after ordering.

I will certainly be ordering online in the future and will look at getting a spare pair soon.
  • I placed an order with Glaases Crafter at the beginning of March 2007, glasses were said to have been shipped with in 10 days of placing the order. 1 month went by and I had not received them so I contacted them. They apologized and said that there glasses come from Shanghi and can take time however in stead of a refund I could place another order at no extra cost.

I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and so I contacted them with a new frame that I wanted, this was placed at the beginning of May and again I don’t have my glasses. What’s even more suspicious is that I can no longer log into my account to track my order; it seems not to exist any more...how strange.

Despite my numerous emails, they don’t seem to answer my question correctly but instead they cut and paste the same answer to my question which I find very frustrating.

Today I have emailed them and I have asked for my money to be refunded. Let hope they answer me first time and refund me.

My advice is that although they offer very cheap to good to be true designer frames from a nice looking website, don’t order with them as it is too good to be true and you probably won’t get them.

Just to offer the other side on this...I've used this site twice now, the specs did arrive on both occasions (did take a while though) - although there was a problem with one of the lenses on the first pair. So....they are genuine, but as they ship from Shanghi I probably won't use them again.

No interest to delare, just saved so much money, I found it hard to believe there is so much difference in price between sites like this and my regular Optician, don't normally use forum sites, but glad I did in this case and will do in future.

Has anybody ordered from ispectacle before?

I ordered from them about 3 weeks ago and have received nothing, I have emailed them but had no reply and when ever I try to ring it just rings and rings before going to the fax machine.
