If you add the two together this comes to negative -1.25. Looking at the specs in primark today, they only do positive numbers. Am I doing it wrong or cant I buy off the peg specs? Help!
I don't think shops are allowed to sell negative prescriptions (for short-sighted folk). That's why you can only buy 'readers'/long-sight glasses.
So you're right on the money!
I'm about to buy some specs from one of the on line sellers (I'm a serious negative number!) and have found this thread very useful and informative. Thanks MSE!0 -
appoligies if this has already been mentioned, there is a factory shop on the outskirts of derby which sells complete glasses from a budget range for £49, might be a bit more expensive then those on line but i had the advantage of trying them on and they were ready to collect in 1 hour

Is there nothing else on MSE that interests you? It appears that all your posts are endorsements of Seymour Specs. If you have an interest perhaps you could declare it?0 -
Sid does appear to only post about seymour specs.0

Sorry, I'm a designer and spelling (+typing is not my strongpoint).
Wish I was an optician though with the money they seem to earn!
I've been ripped off that many times with glasses though and was so impressed with Seymour Specs that I have gone a bit gushing on them.
Before I bought specs online I'd bought some from a local optician at over £300 and then a few year later had to get some new lenses. The bill for £192.00 was a bit of a nasty shock (they dropped to bits a few months later so the overall cost of over £500 left a real bitter taste) so if I'm a bit biased towards Seymour it's just in praise of good service, oh and a £400+ saving!
Anybody know where I can get cheaper Broadband so I can save even more money, seen as I'm spending more time buying my glasses online?0 -
Let me just say that I went to eye lounge (which is the b&m shop for seymourspecs). I really don't believe that Hissing sid is connected to them, because I spoke to the owner. I told him that I had seen his website and I then spoke about being reccomended by someone from this site. He had never heard about it. I for one am glad that Sid told us about them as I too sing their praises.
I think Sid is genuine so please give him the benefit of doubt.

Hello....
I already take advantage of buying my glasses online. I have saved loads already. The website i have used so far has been, https://www.glassescomplete.co.uk . very impressed with their 2for1 offer and top service
But, i am after contact lenses now and they dont do it.
Any recommendations on the net and how does it exactly work, because my opticians are not very helpful in this matter, understandable though?
Thank you folks.
