Has anyone tried to place an order with goggles4u today?

I cannot add anything to the cart because CCNow is coming up with Error code: Cannot determine originating Web page address.
  • Just ordered through https://www.goggles4u.com a few minutes ago.

    Thank you

I had to turn off my Internet Security AND Firewall for the order to go through, defies the purpose of having them both really lol

I just got my pair on Thursday. I am very impressed with the service - it took eight days in all to reach me, that beats the last pair I bought at specsavers which took over two weeks (i've got a strong prescription). I didn't pay for the dhl postage, my case got squashed in the post. Obviously something heavy had been thrown against it. The glasses inside were fine. They had been wrapped in a thick layer of cotton wool, inside a very hard case, inside a box, inside a cloth bag. I shall be buying from them again.

I also went to collect some contact lenses from D&A and left with nothing. I couldn't get my eye wide enough to attempt to put in the contact lenses never mind actually putting them in. If you are one of those people who keeps getting told by the optician to open their eye wider, then you'll probably have trouble as well. I don't care really, I never wanted them it's just they were pestering me when I went to use the voucher, so I had the contact lenses to get some peace. If they had bothered to see how wide I could open my eye when they were assessing my contact lense needs, they would have saved themselves some money. At least now I've got something official to tell them the next time I get asked about contact lenses.

I have just recieved my pair of glasses from goggles4u. Excellent Service. Ordered last Sunday. Shipped on Tuesday, arrived the following Monday (today). 8-days in total.

My only snag is they were not in plastic lenses. But I had already been told that they do not do high +Rx in plastic, only in glass so I expected it. The lenses do not seem to have any anti-reflective coating on them. My current ones are rimless high index plastic lenses so when you look at me you hardly notice I wear glasses. These are semi-rimless and seem to catch all the llight. I will e-mail them now and ask them why.

At £14 it is excellent value for a second pair of glasses. I have never before had a second pair as each pair usually costs me in the region of £300.

They were well made with beautiful italian frames. I am extreemly pleased.

  • Based on that, mine should arrive today / tomorrow! Fingers crossed

Just a follow up. Goggles4u e-mailed me back and were extreemly apologetic about not letting me know that because my Rx was so high (+6.75/+7.25), the lenses could not be coated (beats me why though). Anyway they have offered to refund the cost of the lenses. Not bad. Now atleast I have a second pair which has now cost me only £7. Their customer service is A****** I really cannot over-emphasise this enough.
