I've placed and order with them, some of the frames appear to be designer, 2 pairs with express delivery to the UK £33 ordered on Friday According to the tracking system they were shipped Sunday.
No idea if there any good will report back in a few days when they arrive.
Wow. Good spot Jamesh. A pair of specs with change from £15!! including free delivery worldwide. Good choice of frames. Option to put in pupil distance measurement. And they say High Index lenses free of charge.
I'd be really interested to hear what your glasses are like when they arrive. My prescription is about -5 so I usually go for high index lenses, so wondering what the lenses will be like. Did you go for the CR39 lenses? Not sure which is the best lens option to choose.
I previously ordered from Glasses Direct, but toddler daughter has already managed to break them although we did manage to get them fixed. Goggles4u have got some hingeless specs (the area that she always manages to break) so I'm seriously considering giving them a go.
Do please post back Jamesh once you've received them.0 -
No problem will post back,
After much digging this company seems to be based possibly in Pakistan.
Yep I went for the CR39's my prescription is -2.0 /-2.5 ish, so should be really thin.
I have a feeling some of the frames are possible ends of lines, as I can't find one of the pairs I ordered on their site any longer, this might explain how they can offer some designer frames very cheaply.
They tinted one of my pairs for free some of the other sites mentioned charge for this.
I paid via paypal as the exchange rate was slightly better with paypal.0 -
Thanks.
By the way, I noticed that people were wondering how to go about measuring pupil distance further back on this thread. Just found quite a good method for doing this here.0 -
I'm practically blind as a bat (-9 in each eye!) and was just quoted £199 for thin lenses, plus the cost of frames on top. I've ordered a pair with plastic lenses from http://www.goggles4u.com/ (thanks Jamesh) for under £15. Can't wait to see if they're any good. Fingers crossed. :cool:0

Hi,
Both pairs arrived today, they should have arrived yesterday but courier had trouble finding my house.
Ordered Sunday delivered Friday (DHL)
Anyway the glases seem well made.
The coating on the plastic clear lenses looks really weired when you pick them up its a sort of pearly uv filter I think, but unnoticible when wearing or anyone else looking at them its just at a certain angle you can see it.
The perscription seems perfect, The frames look more like the expensive range in any high street place.
They came in a Hugo Boss case with a Police Cleaning cloth, a spare set of screws and nose pieces.
All in all, seems to be a good buy on this occasion.0 -
Hi The prices on goggles4u seem very good, but how do you know the glasses will suit? When I've bought specs in the past I've spent ages trying to find a pair that will suit me. Is there anyway around this problem? Thanks for any adviceLook after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

Buy a pair that is similar to a pair that you have bought previously that suits you. Or go into specsavers and try on some glasses. They have a camera that allows you to take photos of yourself in up to four pairs of glasses, and then look at yourself using your glasses. Find the one that suits, you then go back and pick a similar style on the website. Of course making your excuses to specsavers - need to check with mother, forgot prescription etc...0

thanks for this post, I have just ordered a pair, paid by paypal as suggested, and if they are any good, I'm going to order a pair of sunglasses from them as you can get 15% off as a repeat customer.0

Just found another site doing the same thing but with far better range of styles and designer frames at fraction of the high street prices.
https://www.thinkeyes.com
Away to order from them now - looks like it is saving me £145 on a pair of Gucci frames!!!0
