They have no where to live surely or store their items. Let them go. That £8000 they will need to use for accommodation and others fees - they will soon regret asking!
Also on the dog front - okay you paid for the motorhome - but their is no proof that the dog was used as an exchange. Surely this cannot be used in court? I do feel for you - maybe its time to walk away and at least have some peace.0 -
Did this come through the solicitors?
I would only speak through the solicitors on this issue (although my first thought is that they are trying to scare you into dropping the price, and that you should tell them to jog on)
EDIT: even if it does fall through - at least you won't have to live near them (they sound like they could be neighbours from hell)0 -
Part of me thinks they had an underlaying plan the whole time.
i'd tell them no. they aggreed the price. if the mum was to have fallen 6 months after they bought it, would they ask you then to pay for the stair lift ?
Yes it may be a awful time in the housing market, but if you agree to the 8k drop, they are gonna be your neighbours but one house, for a long time. and gonna always be in your life.!!!!!!!
do you really want to see them every day. they never gonna leave u alone.
WALK AWAY.0 -
can you cope with the 8 grand loss? less storage, campersite fees etc?? lol.
TBH I woudl just want shot of them asap (or did I mean them shot!) so either suck up the price drop, you would likely have to remarket at a lower price anyway or pull out, bearing in mind if you go ahead they will still be neighbours!! that would put me off the chain personally!Aug 24 - Mortgage Balance £242,040.19

Mr Jones.
Time for the bottom line question.
Do you really want these people to be your next door but one neighbours?
I'd have the house back on the market tomorrow. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

It doesn't look like they ever had any real intention of exchanging. Some people are just here for the free ride. You could agree to the price reduction - what's to stop them hitting you with a request for a second and subsequent one?
Looks like you will need to cut your losses.0 -

Indeed, but I doubt whether this thread has any basis in fact, and that any similarity to any persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental. A stair lift for £8,000 sounds a little steep to me, if you will excuse the pun."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
This is terrible. I have to agree with this comment:

She has lost her confidence but wants a Stannah stairlift put in pronto. They have made enquiries and someone can be out tomorrow to measure up and quote, but they want a fixed price off.I didnt shout at them. I explained the puppy was their problem and I have done everything I could Their solicitor has advised them they have a case against us but in "good faith" they are willing to ignore that, or pull out and look for a large bungalow and sue for damages to "held equip their mother" as they put it.
in "good faith" you are willing to waive such charges as long as they either exchange right now at the agreed price + the invoice or !!!! off and never darken your door again. They have agreed to do this. They have asked whether we can drop our price, and I said I would walk up and chat to our vendor who lives next door but one."Gold is the money of kings; silver is the money of gentlemen; barter is the money of peasants; but debt is the money of slaves." - Norm Franz0
