  • surely they didn't give you a receipt for the dog so its technically still their dog??

No but it was my Tesco Clubcard Credit Card they swiped down at the pound to spring the winnebago

edit - not good, a taxi has just pulled up with the Clampetts. The taxi has had to stop over the road as the pathway is blocked with what appears to be a spin dryer.
  • if clampets telephone you... inform them that this is the last conversation that is not through solicitors, their mobile home is now no longer allowed to be parked on your drive, they should move it. also the council are removing items left on the street by their brother. even if this is a little white lie it may still happen. dont have them inside the property incase they trip, fall or damage themselves in some way, do not allow them your food or drink incase they are "poisioned" garage only! lock doors remove spare keys and try to have an independant person availiable to witness proceedings.

God, if only we had home insurance.
Why on earth would you not have home insurance?

I was willing to give this thread (and the OP) the benefit of the doubt but really am starting to think it is a toal fabrication.

    Photograph everything

    Touch nothing

Change the locks (switch barrels at the least) immediately if they have had hold of your keys at any point.

Inform them they are now trespassing on your property and you want them to leave immediately.

I am gobsmacked to hear that you haven't any home insurance!
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

  • AS A dog lover, id rather the mutt stay with jones rather than clampets..... but if charges are forthcomming then yup switch back but they owe you for the pound.... so youd never be able to prove that wasnt a gift, shame about home insurance, the legal protection is invaluable. my sis fear is the registered address with the police is yours.... this could have long lasting ramifications unless remidied.

  • Right,

    Jokes aside:

They want £8,000 off the property or else they are not going to exchange.

Mother is doing well, but afraid of being back in the house with "those stairs". She has lost her confidence but wants a Stannah stairlift put in pronto. They have made enquiries and someone can be out tomorrow to measure up and quote, but they want a fixed price off.

I didnt shout at them. I explained the puppy was their problem and I have done everything I could Their solicitor has advised them they have a case against us but in "good faith" they are willing to ignore that, or pull out and look for a large bungalow and sue for damages to "held equip their mother" as they put it.

I told them I will give it good consideration overnight and refer to my solicitor, but in the meantime I have asked them to remove all items from the property tonight to bring about a bit of neutrality to the situation.

They have agreed to do this. They have asked whether we can drop our price, and I said I would walk up and chat to our vendor who lives next door but one.

So. Either we try and remarket in an appauling market, or we give up and face the consequences. I dont know which.
