congrats likabu, somthing ive been wondering (as it does say you do on my court paperwork) when your at the court do you speak to the OR or just one on one with the judge?
On our court day we both saw the judge, we were with her for about 5 mins. Very nice lady, very symapthetic and understanding of our situation.
Once she stamped our BR orders we had to wait for a phone call from the OR office before we could leave. This was only a brief phone chat to confirm personal details, they told us what would happen next and they asked if we had a bank account that wages, benefits etc were paid into. Got the chance to give them account details of our Co Op cashminder.
All in all, in there for just under 2 hours.0 -
My experience was exactly the same as Angies:):pB&SC No. 298

Hi all!
My BR day was the 20th Jan - And I can honestly say - for me - it was the best thing I've could've done. What a sense of relief! Everything was straight forward at the court. The admin lady was brilliant, sympathetic and helpful. Saw the judge for about 2 mins. Then had a hold up waiting for the OR to call back. - They did tell me the Swansea OR were slow and could take about an hour to call back.....2 and a half hours later.... got the call - just to go over a few basics...and then done and dusted!! Waiting for them to contact me about a few things - hoping they won't take my car - its not worth much and i'd hate to be without it.
I had help with the court costs from UNISON welfare - so thats an option if anyone is with UNISON - I just had to fill in a few forms, send evidence and then they post a cheque made out to the court for £600 !! Just to let people know - UNISON help with all sorts of funds and different help. Check the Unison welfare website - it was just by luck that I noticed a leaflet in my monthly unison news that I found out, Not sure if its well known on this site - will have a look - if not I'll post it somewhere!!
Just wanted to let those know who are about to go BR - it's not as scary as you think....Turn £100 into £10,000Total £0/£10,000:j2012 Challenge - £14 / £12000Declared bankrupt - 20.1.11

I had never heard of Unison, thanks for bringing it to people's attention, it might help someone struggling out there with fees, its alot of money to find.

Just to make it clear about UNISON - its the union I belong to for work purposes - They can help members - don't think it applies to non-members. Didn't want to mis-inform people. But yes - a great help!!Turn £100 into £10,000Total £0/£10,000:j2012 Challenge - £14 / £12000
