I went bankrupt on Monday 17th January, something I've been putting off and putting off. Can't say I feel any sense of relief yet, mainly still guilt that it had to come to this. That said, I'm sure there will be brighter days ahead.

I was surprised at how easy the whole process was, I didn't even need to see a judge and the letter confirming the BR was delivered the following day. The conversation with the OR couldn't have been easier as well, she was very helpful and understanding.

Good luck to everyone who's in the same position or considering it. I can confirm that it doesn't hurt as much as you think.

I'm pleased it went well for you Bogart, as Dojoman says things will seem brighter soon and the relief will come.

    Best wishes

OH well Thats it official I am now bancrupt as of the **th. I just have to wait now for my OR to contact me to go through my affairs.
Will be glad when i get that bit over with.
Not sure how i feel yet. You know there is a part of me that is annoyed with the banks because a lot of my debt is because of the rediculous interest and charges they kept slapping on over the years so for me it was impossible to ever get out the debt, but yes at the end of the day it was my choice to get into debt.
Now i am at rock bottom my whole outlook has changed and i will never get into debt again. So many years of my life has been wasted, worrying over money.
IT's been a hard road getting to where i am now but i have no regrets, infact i should have gone bankrupt years ago.

Well done Neil, glad it went OK for you. The emotions you will feel are quite normal and in all honesty it is something of rollercoaster ride. I am now discharged and cannot believe how quickly the year went by. Just use the forum as a "venting" board if you need to, most of us have been through it and can empathise with how you are feeling.

    Thanks for the support Dojo.
Just reading through the paperwork It says my trustee will contact me in 6 months time to conduct a review. Does not say anything about contacting me shortly, so maybe i will not hear anything from her until then. I went down the Lila route and am in scotland.
