NEED THIS BY TEATIME, 5PM TODAY ! I had a recipe for broccoli where you steamed it then mixed up cream or fromage frais and cheese and poured it over then baked it in the oven. I HAVE LOSTIT ! (totally
) Can anybody tell me it before 5 o'clock ???
I think you've just written the recipe yourself! What more of a recipe is there likely to be?
Sounds really yum, it's the kind of thing I make a lot of, most veg are lovely if you cover with white/cheese sauce or fromage frais etc and topped with cheese. No recipe needed, that's it. In fact, lightly cooked very fresh veg topped with a grating of cheese and plenty of black pepper is one of my favourite meals, nothing else is needed.0 -
I'm not a cook & not into green food !
But if I camoflage it in cream then I can pretend its custard and eat some...! It was ok, he ate it all anyway !

Broccoli and custard? Sounds revolting! :rotfl:
I quite agree with you about green food - I eat it because it's good for me but I have to disguise it well first! I'll have to try it done like this - I find almost anything covered in sufficient cheese ends up edible!Back after a very long break!0 -

I bought a bag of broccoli in MR T reduced to 20p on Saturday and havn't used it. My freezer is crammed to bursting so can anyone think of what I can do with it as I'd hate to bin my bargain.its in my fridge at the moment still fairly green, but its got to be used up at some point between today and tomorrow I would think.I'm so mean arn't I, but I just need some inspiration

Hi Jackie,
What about making broccoli cheese instead of cauliflower cheese or broccoli soup?
There's an earlier thread with lots more ideas that may help so I'll add your post to it to keep the suggestions together.

if you have any other odds and ends of veg hanging about (red, green, orange pepper) mushrooms, carrot, onion, spring onion, sweet potato, swede cut up small, you get the idea...............put any combination or even all of them in a roasting dish/tin drizzle over good olive oil a good amount of black pepper (mine looks like roadkill by time Im finished with pepper mill)and a couple cloves of garlic (optional - leave it out if you dont like it) a sprinkle of salt and it sounds strange but it really improves the flavour, a good spoonful of sugar. roast in a hot oven near the top for about 35 - 45 mins. time depends on how caremlised you like it. i always try to include brocoli when i do this as even the broc haters will eat this!0

A minor error with internet shopping has resulted in a delivery of 4 kilos of broccoli! As there is just me and a 3yr old at the moment, I could really do with some suggestions of how to use it! The freezer is full to burst or I would blanch and freeze it. I have thought of soup, but any other ideas would be very welcome, thanks:D0
