  • Well, well, well, Martin, not only does my husband have to put up with me extolling your virtues every time we want to spend money, but now he has to put up with me listening to your voice too!

He thinks I have an unhealthy interest in all that you say anyhow, but believe me, without your continual support, advice, and emails we would not be as well off as we are!

As to your mutterings - ace! Not only does it clarify your email, but it is always nicer to "talk" to a human being! Reading the email is always a pleasure, but hearing you discuss them makes them more real and gives me a chance to take notes (something I always do when I hear your speeches!!!!!!) So that I can then scan the points you've made and decide which ones I will read in depth!

Roll on technology so that we can have you live in our houses and talk to you personally! (I know - scary thought!!)

Keep up the good work Martin, you are a monopoly that I never want to see changed!!

Excellent idea - best listened to with headphones. I am not sure whether music in the background is a good idea though. Thanks Martin. ;)
  • Nice to give the eyes a rest, and hear some animated speech! As with all options there are downsides - with this it's that you have to listen to the whole message. If there was a way of clicking onto a specific 'chapter', say, that would make it even more of a time-saver for me. Also, would be useful to have some indication on the real player window of the length of the clip (how much time will it take to play from beginning to end).

    Keep working it up - it'll be a good'n!

This feedback is very useful. Not sure about the click to the bits you like - we're a way away from that. One thing it has made me consider though is adding an audio explanation to some of the major articles - eg. best balance transfers - as i think it may make it easier for people to understand.

  • Unfortunately as my work pc does not have a sound card this is not relevant to me. I do hope I am not missing out on some important money saving!

Hello Martin, love the mutterings and the site !

Your 5 minute audio is a great. Other people are doing them and calling them Podcasts, see www.podcastalley.com - would be great if you can do some more !

Can you make them more regular and longer and publish them as a RSS feed so we can use programs such as Doppler or Ipodder to auto download.

    Keep up the good work

    Simon

Podcasting is a slightly different concept. It is a recorded audio file, usually MP3 or MP4, which is then downloaded via an RSS Enclosure with an application like iPodder and then uploaded onto your iPod via iTunes.

Essentially Podcasting is just time-delay radio. It may be worth asking Martin if he'd consider making a podcast system for it too - its not that hard to do... just rebuild an RSS enclosure everytime a new "muttering" is released.

I myself listen to a number of Podcasts, and know someone who is making a revolutionary system for Podcasting - its amazing just how far podcasting is going!

  • I think hearing Martin's voice adds more impact to the words, very good! and anything that help's your RSI has got to be good for you.

On a lighter note, you could even include a bit of NLP or subliminal messaging into the audio!

  • It took about half a minute to download ( broadband ) and it was great to be able to listen to it whilst looking at other information within the website. Thanks for making the concept of how to save money easier, Martin.
  • I can't open it either:confused:
