• I like it! Good idea for people to pass on to friends or relative who may have vision problems. Look forward to hearing it again.
• Great stuff! Please, no music though, that would be very annoying. Also, off the cuff is good, I like the way it comes across and it suits Martins style better than a pre-scripted setup. Agree about the MP3 settings, no need for stereo at 128k if you're only recording voice and smaller size would be better for dial-up and slow BB users. :D

Hi folks.

Comments taken on board about download speed. The mike quality is fine, but we had techie issues in the recording.

When i said music - all i mean is a wee jingle and what are called 'stings' between items, just to break it up - not a music bed underneath.

As for emulating MoneyBox. Absolutely not - while i enjoy the programme, used to work on it, and still appear there sometimes - MoneySaving isn't about money - its about consumer finance. Moneybox is usually about 'curing problems' what i do is about 'being a better, more radical, consumer'

• Hello Martin, love the mutterings and the site !

Your 5 minute audio is a great. Other people are doing them and calling them Podcasts, see https://www.podcastalley.com - would be great if you can do some more !

Can you make them more regular and longer and publish them as a RSS feed so we can use programs such as Doppler or Ipodder to auto download.

Keep up the good work

Simon
• Hi

First post on the site and really like the audio to go with the e-mail.
• I think it's a brilliant idea. This site has so much information on it, being a newbie it's sometimes difficult to know where to look.

Very good quality and downloaded very quickly - look forward to more
• I haven't even tried to listen as I am away from home and using dial up at a friends. What I do find very exciting is the number of people who have signed up just to post that they have enjoyed it. Obviously another winner, well done the MSE Team and I am assuming it will be there to listen to until the next email tip goes out?

:)
• Only been signed up to the Money Saving email for two weeks. Love this feature. Content is cool, and I do like the format - i'm involved with local radio production - so call me a radio geek if you like!

Sounds good M, could always be jiggled up a bit with some music beds and even jingles!

Looking forward to the next one......

welcome back :D

erm - oops - sorry - dont mean to go off topic, err, yes - streaming would be great martin - and if you could speak a bit faster to speed up the download time and compress the time then so much the better ;)

V good for a first go.

But you should deffo stream it ! think of all those poor 56kers :(

Streamings easy anyway and takes approx 5 mins to setup :

Here how......

Get Real player producer 10 (the free edition of course)
convert your monologue to a .rm or .ra real player type

Once done create a .ram file by....
open notepad
type the EXACT url of the .rm ,.ra you've just created and save it as whatever.ram

then put the link on your website to the .RAM file NOT the .Ra,.rm and hey presto you've got streaming site in 5 mins flat. eg
Listen to Audio

hope that helps

I agree with all the positive comments, it's another winner !
Also if you cut down the quality a bit you can get a much smaller file size to speed up downloading.
Great to hear martin in person too :-)
