  • Well I called them this morning and was told I had ordered 2 corporate chocolate hampers so I guess I'm getting them then. I did give them a earfull though. I told asked them how can they run out of the winter wonderland hampers when they've just reduced all the items on their website, I was told that they had ran out of the boxes for them so couldn't make them up I said I didn't care about the box but the guy on the phone did. He also said IT WAS A GLITCH and that Thorntons are being fantastic by honouring the orders instead of just refunding people.

Mine just came. I'm sure stuff is missing and the chocolate figures which I had intended on giving me niece and nephew as a wee Christmas Eve treat are in pieces. Not very happy :(

Received a winter wonderland hamper this morning:j
no mint chocs (good coz I hate them lol)

2 of the figures are smashed.

haven't sat & matched up the list, but there's loads in there:D

(I ordered at 10.28am, paid via PayPal & have had no e-mails at all from Thorntons)
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!
  • Mine arrived this morning, Thank you OP!

2 figures smashed and substitutions, but for the price very good bargain!

Opened my winter wonderland hamper which is virtually as listed so pleased but the snowman, reindeer and santa were all smashed so called Thorntons, (expecting to be on hold for ages and to be told tough) but got answered quickly, very apologetic and are sending out replacements, obviously won't get here for xmas but not fussed, so another £19 worth of chocolate on it's way and the others are still edible, if not pretty!! Thanks again op!

Well done to all of you who have managed to get the Winter Wonderland hamper.

I'm very annoyed with Thorntons as it now proves that they did have stock. I placed my order just after 2am and I cannot understand why they did not allocate the stock to the earliest orders first.

I now have to find somewhere to store the corporate boxes over Christmas, as they are not coming to collect them until January. I wish I hadn't bothered now :-(

    Not a glitch, I'm afraid.

I see that people on HUKD have gone back to Thorntons on the fact that the replacement boxes have a 'value' of only £100, rather than the advertised £120 (both of these are the silly inflated prices, rather than the real prices).

As a result they're getting an extra box to make the value up to what it should have been. Quite right too. You might want to do the same. :)
I did try to ask for this but the CS person wasn't sympathetic and she argued that the Winter Wonderland box was only worth the reduced price of £60 and not £120

I gave up in the end and accepted the offer of a full refund and they will come and collect the unwanted boxes.
  • I too am very annoyed I wish I hadn't contacted them and just waited to see what they sent me. Instead I'm getting sent two corporate boxes which have got sh it in them that no one will eat! It's a joke! I dont understand why they didn't just offer us the festive hamper like some people have got. I would of been happy with that.

I've emailed customer services for an answer.
