Hi - can you tell me who delivered them as DHL have just tried to deliver to my home address. If it's this, then they are a day early!

I'm puzzled as to why some people see this as a glitch, rather than a deliberate marketing ploy by Thorntons. It wasn't a glitch - it was a non-bargain dressed up to look like a bargain because of deliberate overpricing. I have just called them as my order wasn't delivered yesterday. I received an email just after ordering saying they were going to replace with 2 chocoholic hampers. They said that my order will be sent today and their carriers (DHL) have said that they will deliver tomorrow. I think that if you haven't had a dispatch email then you should ring them as they seem to be sending when you call. Here is a freefone no I got from saynoto0870 which got me straight through to CS 0800 454537

I think thorntons have been great in honouring this glitch, even though they have replaced with something else it still seems a great deal. I suppose they have lots of stock left and decided better to sell than not, but still great that we didn't get the usual glitch email saying oos.

Not a glitch, I'm afraid.

I see that people on HUKD have gone back to Thorntons on the fact that the replacement boxes have a 'value' of only £100, rather than the advertised £120 (both of these are the silly inflated prices, rather than the real prices).

As a result they're getting an extra box to make the value up to what it should have been. Quite right too. You might want to do the same.

I am really starting to lose my patience. It was due for delivery yesterday. Then they changed it to tomorrow, so I had to change the delivery address to home. They've just tried to deliver to home - OH home but was in dressing gown so didn't answer the door. Now trying to contact DHL and the phone is just ringing and ringing.

Argghhh!

I agree to a point. I look at what the items I'm getting will cost me - if I think it's good, then I'll buy. In this case I felt it was a bargain for the numbers of presents I would have to give out, although I certainly don't consider them to be worth over £100.

Having said that, I've just been informed by Thorntons that I will be amongst those not getting anything. I called them as delivery should have been yesterday and they said lots of orders weren't being sent as there was no stock. They'll refund but this will take about 2 weeks. I said that was not acceptable and have requested a call back from a manager.:(
