  • I received 2 boxes that were labelled as corporate hampers. Each hamper containing :-
    Chocolate Jumbles . 180g
    Thornton melts , 200g
    Chocolate fudge , 165g
    Chocolate chip chocosomethings , 155g
    caramels , 188g
    metropolitain , 191g
    classics , 330g
    special toffee , 625g
    moments , 250g
    dark chilli chocolate , 80g
    strawberry milk chocolate , 80g

Now I know it was a long shot that thorntons would honour the agreement in some part but from what I can see they have taken an order for in excess of 5 kg of confectionary and delivered just shy of 2.5 kg over 1kg of that was toffee.
So, I'll be thanking them for delivering something I didn't order and getting my money back on monday.
i've just received my order today, exactly the same items as above and will be phoning them tomorrow..a really poor selection and is mostly made up of toffee..only 3 small versions of chocolates that you would even consider giving as gifts imo..the rest are just pouches and not a glimpse of any continental nothing like the chocoholic hamper
  • I was one of the lucky people who received the winter wonderland hamper as advertised and apart from the 3 chocolate figures being smashed to bits I was well pleased with it.
I sent a polite email to their customer services to let them know about about the broken santa etc and today I have received a phone call from Thorntons. A really nice gentleman was very apologetic about the damage and he has dispatched 3 replacement figures to me ( too late for Christmas I know but chocolate is chocolate lol ) and 15% off my next order with them.
Well done Thornons a big :T:T:T from me.
  • I have received no such offer so have emailed the CEO of Thorntons. Will see what happens.
Mortgage Free as of 31/5/11 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j
  • well i phone thorntons today after receiving my hampers yesterday..i got a very lovely chap called tim who was very apologetic and is very kindly sending me a continental cascade and 3 chocolate figures to make up for my dissapointment! more than happy with that offer and to be fair have ended up with a huge amount of confectionary for the price paid...plenty to share around and the dates on the individual items are really good too.
    thanks again OP

I ordered two hampers as well but a week before your date and they were due to be delivered last week. No delivery and no contact - CS advised that they had no stock of the hamper when I ordered it so the order would sit pending until they did. I cancelled as needed for last week so its highly annoying to see this as offer of the day when old orders were not sent or even in stock! Given the generic email yesterday its even worse that they are still pushing the xmas hampers.

Just a heads up, for those that cancelled their orders just check you have had a refund. Cancelled mid dec and still not had mine - its being done this week apparently.
  • Requested uplift & refund through 'contact us' website link before Xmas, & called early in New Year - when they said they had no record of my message but would arrange refund & uplift. Called again today - they said they couldn't refund me as they didn't have my card info (so why didn't they ask for it last time I called?!). They said they'd refund me within 5 working days (so about a month after I first requested it) - & said they'd call me regarding collection.

Anyone know how long I have to keep these items which I did not order? Can I dispose of them at some point if they don't collect? (Racking brain for way of disposing of kilos of toffee & chocolate!).
  • Once you've contacted them and requested that they collect unsolicited goods they have 30 days to do so, after that you can "dispose" of them :D
