  • well mine arrived this morning. Ordered Winter wonderland, but got the two corporate boxes instead!! I am happy with the contents, it would have cost more than £30. Thing that has naffed me off is that i ordered a message card with mine that said 'to our beautiful children'. It was supposed to be a hamper for my 3 kids to share. I would have thought by seeing this message a more child friendly substitute would have been sent?

Oh well you live and learn

    Happy Christmas everyone x

THIS LINK takes you to the normal page for the Chocoholics Hamper which does list what is supposed to be included and gives you the price inc VAT.

    Contains
Milk, Dark and White Classics Box 330g,
    Dessert Gallery 215g,
Milk, White and Dark Continental 175g,
    Metropolitan 191g,
    Chocolate Smothered Fudge pouch 165g,
    Melts 200g,
    Choc-Chip Choccies pouch 155g,
    Moments 250g,
    Continental Chocolat Riche bag 107g,
    Continental Viennese Truffles bag 105g,
    Milk Caramels bag 110g,
    Original Chewy Toffi-Chocs pouch 165g.

It was supposed to be £60 reduced from £120 - they never advertised it as being £30. They could have just cancelled the orders... if you're not happy with them then you should of course get them to do a refund and collect the items as they weren't what you ordered and weren't given an opportunity to agree to the substitution. Personally, though I would have preferred the original hamper, if I get two of the above as they are supposed to be then I'll be still quite happy.
received mine by dhl i got 2 lots (me too) of
    Assorted Special Toffee 625g £4.99
Dark chocolate with chilli 80g £1.79
Milk choc with Strawberry 80g £1.79
Milk Dark and White choc classics 330g £6.99
    Delightfully soft caramels 188g £1.99
    Chunky Chocolately Jumbles 180g £1.99
    Praline melts 200g £3.99
    Chocolate smothered fudge 165g £1.99
    Choc chip choccies 150g £1.99
    Moments 250g £3.99
    Metropolitan 191g £6.49
not a very good selection and certainly not the chocoholics hamper

Above total £75.98 for 2 boxes! no where near the £120 glitch .

A friend of mine ordered Chocoholics hamper for me but instead I got this :

I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
  • Not exactly £120 worth though is it?

I've been on the phone to Thorntons I spoke to Tim who was really helpful and they are sending me a limited edition festive hamper well chuffed

    Thumbs up thorntons

That strawberry chocolate doesn't half stink - if it wasn't for the fact that it's frozen outside and Thorntons have told me they won't be picking up for around 1.5/2 weeks, I'd leave the stuff outside! And it's exceedingly cruel making me spend Christmas without chocolate, but with two boxes sitting there. :)

I love the Dessert Gallery & Continentals and would have happily kept these if they'd been included - but I'm no fudge/caramel/toffee fan so back it goes....sob.

EDIT: Well done Steph - had they offered me that I would have kept this lot. Oh well, some you win, some you lose :)
  • My Winter Wonderland Hamper arrived 3pm today - 1 box full of goodies - no substitutions as far as I can see - only problem one santa was smashed. Other than that well pleased.

I received 2 boxes that were labelled as corporate hampers. Each hamper containing :-
    Chocolate Jumbles . 180g
    Thornton melts , 200g
    Chocolate fudge , 165g
    Chocolate chip chocosomethings , 155g
    caramels , 188g
    metropolitain , 191g
    classics , 330g
    special toffee , 625g
    moments , 250g
    dark chilli chocolate , 80g
    strawberry milk chocolate , 80g

Now I know it was a long shot that thorntons would honour the agreement in some part but from what I can see they have taken an order for in excess of 5 kg of confectionary and delivered just shy of 2.5 kg over 1kg of that was toffee.
So, I'll be thanking them for delivering something I didn't order and getting my money back on monday.

  • Hi, well I ordered the Winter Wonderland, tracked it and it's been sitting in Edinburgh since 22nd and for some reason they haven't delivered. So to those who received anything that's fantastic but for me, it's now Christmas and I have no choccies to munch whilst watching the films.

So much for next day delivery well done Thorntons and DHL NOT!
  • really pleased for those that have received their order and even better that some got the winter wonderland too! but i've still not received anything :( got a despatch email on the 23rd so was hopeful for a christmas eve delivery but nothing arrived.
just checked dhl's website and from what i can see they don't resume deliveries until wednesday..still interested to see what i actually get as never had 'the email' regarding substitutions..oh well shall hopefully be a nice treat to beat the january blues :)
