Thanks guys, read on your diary Choo that you really resisted the dress temptation today, WELL DONE :money:
Maybe need to think of it as a post-exam reward?

What stage are you at? Is it ACCA?

    .

    Hi Polly

Yes its ACCA and I'm on the professional stage so almost there, its the final exam in June so I'm hammering away at the books at every opportunity. Its been hard work though with 2 kids and I wish that I'd done it years ago but nearly there now.

I do feel better knowing that I resisted the dress, once I saw the price tag of £50 that was the decider. I'll be waiting for it to go into the sale and then decide if I still need it.

Good news for you about DH contract, its a big decision to make but at least you've got the house valued and then you'll be able to weigh up all the options.

Vets bills are so expensive, we got our cat neutered last year but it only cost us £60 but another cat that we had needed an operation,it cost us £600  and we had no insurance! The lesson was learnt, we now have insurance and put some money aside each month for the annual boosters.

Hope you have a good day x
  • Morning, going to be a lovely day here:j, last day of the holidays for me as DH is on duty next week, still i've got the three public holidays to break up the next couple of weeks:beer:

Ohh Choo i don't envy you getting through the last lot of exams but you are nearly there, is work putting you through? Will you get extra money when you qualify??

Thanks for reading Woowoo, you're a brave woman!! I think when i started the diary i didn't really see how much we were in debt i just associated it all with the house, which is what it is all tied into and then as we've been servicing sooo much debt we were using ccs to survive, anyway that light has well and truely dawned now:mad:
Mind you i still like nice things:o

Right need a shower and then see if i can get these children on their bikes!!

  • Morning,
Having a funny day here so far, just feeling a bit down about our lack of income:(, there are so many things i want for my family and i can't ever see us doing them, you know taking the children on safari, to Pompei, even just skiing, ho hum.
Problem is it isn't even travelling, it's educating them as i know by the time mine are ready to go tuition fees will be horrific and i would like them to go away to uni, don't think it's the same learning experience if they stay at home, no offence to anyone as that may be the only way we can afford it too, just i mean in terms of learning to live and take responsibility whilst still coming home at the holidays.
I'd also like them to have music lessons, riding lessons and other sports and atm i'm not even sure we can afford the swimming club for DD.

Anyway i'm probably just hormonal:eek: and i'll buck up later.

What i have done that was interesting was a s/sheet looking at our secured loan. We borrowed £29,500 but if we pay it off as agreed over the 120 month term we'll be paying back £49,969.20:eek::eek::eek:
i never really looked at that when we took it out as the plan had been to do up the house and sell in a couple of years. Anyway they will take overpayments of any amount, so i'll phone and double check that on Monday and then see if i can do a Woowoo and pay off any little odd bits.
Although until we get figures from CAB i don't really know if i'll have anything to play with.

Think this is why i'm a bit fed up today, want to DO something but still having to wait:mad:

That's also true of the house, have got my enthusiasm back a bit but no dosh to do anything, aarrrggghhh, off to bury my head in chocolate:j:j

    Hi Polly

I'm not looking forward to them either I got myself in a right state over the last lot and DH nearly packed his bags and left home, I was a right cow!
Work have paid a contribution and I've funded the remainder hence where part of my debt has come from and I will certainly be mentioning a payrise when I qualify.

Feel free to rant it must be really difficult for you and until you know what the figures are you will feel up in the air about things.

I'm just heading over to my diary now to rant!
  • I'll follow you over Choo, always better when you don't feel alone with your anger!!

DH just back from the supermarkets £91.14 , on that superscrimpers programme it said £52 for a family of four, now we are five with one in nappies but....

  • Morning, beautiful sunny morning so i feel sooo much better!
We had a takeaway curry last night as today is our wedding anniversary and i think that was good for us too. Actually laughed about the fact that 12 years into marriage we're on the brink of BR, didn't see that coming when we were paying cash for the wedding and completely solvant, oh happy days.

I think i have always wanted more and wanted it now and to achieve the goals we got ourselves in too deep with this housing malarky, the only way is up :D

Ironed all the children's school uniform yesterday, so today it's my turn as i'm back at work tomorrow, at least i've got the long weekend to look forward too and DH and children will be here when i get home each day, not my usual routine of collecting everyone and then waiting for him to get home.
Might have a look through my work emails to see what awaits me :p

Right off to put more washing in the machine!

  • Oh the other thing that helped my mood shift was watching smallest child go up and down our staircase five times yesterday, so much to DH's annoyance, as he has a recurring nightmare that smallest falls down the stairs, i took down the stair gate at the top of the stairs and have listed it on ebay, so that feels like a big step forward! Just to get him out of nappies and save that expense now!! Oh and find a bed on gumtree or something and get him out of his cot....
