Sitting here imagining a pile of lost flylady items somewhere with my labels on top - dooooooooooh forgot to get some when I went to the corner shop before. It is like an ice rink outside our house.

DS2&3 have cleared all the ice from the path (they had to chip it up like miners) and I've salted it now.

Need to look at my list to see what is next.

Sexy - Christmas Eve really is not the time to be stressing about such things. If everybody waited until the time was 'right' to have a baby most of us would never have started our families! Don't worry about resolving the argument, let it go it's Christmas and just be thankful for what you have.

    Afternoon all

Well we got up early and were in Morrisons by 7.45 so all the shopping is done and put away. It was getting busy by the time we came out (about 8.30 or so).

The turkey is cooking, another 40 minutes to go. I've prepared the bacon/sausages and stuffing and the sprouts. I may start the trifle this afternoon. I have to work later on but this evening I'll sort out the turkey and slice it all up. If I can keep the cat away until then - he's hovering ;)

Oh and I did two loads of washing and dusted and vacuumed downstairs.

Not finished catching up, hope everyone's OK.

Mum has just phoned to say that Dad has had the results of the deep scan he had yesterday - they went deeper to see what the prob was- he has a gall bladder stuffed full of stones!! Docs words not mine lol. He has to go to another hosp to get it sorted as our one doesn't do it but it will get sorted soon and then he should be fine - so so relieved - can enjoy tomorrow now

Top news Helen! Galls stones are VERY fixable!

Got let out of work just after noon. I now need to get the kitchen properly sorted ready for lunch to morrow.

Having had my gall bladder out in August I can't recommend it highly enough! I feel human for the first time in nearly 3 years, I can stay up past 9pm and I don't live in constant fear of an "episode" / midnight dash to A & E for a dose of morphine (eek).
Don't let him eat too much fatty stuff over Christmas. From what I can gather the outcome is generally far better if you have the op in a planned fashion rather than as an emergency when having a severe episode.

Awww, no, please don't be a sadmouse.:( Like my grandmother used to say "It'll all come out in the wash":o Probably not the best time of year for momentous discussions, with all the Xmas stuff going on, and various rellies in and out.... Enjoy the time, and leave the conversation for later. (((HUG)))

Just having a quick sandwich then I'll carry on. Everything out of the freezer defrosting so I don't need to do anything else foodwise until about 4ish.

  • Well top 2 floors done (not as posh as it sounds we live in a tall narrow town house).
Just got play room and kitchen to clean and mince pies to make. Oh yes and ice the cake.
Thanks to all for the lists and encouragement to keep going, I've had a difficult couple of months and I'm feeling on top of things for once.
    Merry Christmas to all.

Back from butchers and deli think i made the right choice to go slightly later rather than at 9 as both shops were queued out the door apparently no queue when i was there !!

Off for another HHC 1.15 - 1.30. I will try to get this list clceared.
  • Will probably meet my deadline of 2.30 and being done, so after church (crib service) we can have some family time finishing last few decorations (as is our way each year).

One bed to remake, one downstairs bathroom to clean, kitchen floor to scrub (snow, salt & a tiled floor make for a horrid mucky one!) and that's about it.

So thank you for all the help , encouragement & challenges - it has helped hugely.

NB - Sexy, being an older mother is just as good as a younger one, if rushing isn't right, take some time to make that decision - ((hugs))
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
