Florist didn't have anything I liked - only huge expensive wreaths and no interesting greenery. Village shop wasn't overly inspiring either, so suspect I need to go out :( unless I can come up with something creative for SIL's dad - she suggested jam, chutney, marmalade etc. I have some chutney, hot chocolate, chocolate, honey, but as I'm also doing stockings for everyone (well parents are sharing, as are SIL and DB as I CBA to do them one each this year!) I need to make sure it doesn't look too similar. I have a horrible feeling I may have to go to Tesco :eek:Town is bound to be heaving and unpleasant so I guess I should go soon to get it over with.

On the plus side, both my parcels have arrived... the postman has an annoying habit of not bothering to separate the parcels, so if one can't be delivered due to size/signature, he takes them ALL back. Not sure why... surely its more for him to carry???
  • Parcel from my mum has arrived, as has one from Amazon - but not the one they tell me is coming today! So I must still wait in cos it is a big prezzie for the kids!

I've stopped for a bit, decluttered coffee and pancakes and released the chickaroonies, other than than feel a bit frozen by inaction due to overwhelmedness.

    Must get my essentials done.

    Must wrap remaining pressies.

Must pack up bedroom in readiness for moving into other.

Must then help DD2 move into our old bedroom and then DD1 into DD2's old room.

Must make some work related phone calls.

    Must pick up shopping.

Must take chicken sacks of food/straw out of car and round back of house.

    Must get some petrol.

Must take turkey out of freezer.

Must attempt to premake my roasts again, last lot got eaten.

Must make a list, need gravy etc, etc.

    Must pick DD1 up.

I would also like to do some blooming baking.

I am going to have to go into town, as the laptop sleeve I ordered for my dad is too big... its for 14" laptops and his is 13". I checked, and I do need to try to get a smaller one. At least the present ex-OH ordered for him has arrived OK, but I need to try to get hold of him today to ask him to sort out some photos - I can do prints here for the moment, and we can order proper ones after christmas.

So one more lot of chocs filled, and I'm now off out to brave the crowds... hopefully I'll come back with SOMETHING suitable.

Parents have left home and will be here by 3pm, so need to be superficially ready (i.e. clean, tidy and decorated!) by then.

Just walked dogs and met my mum half way with the children. I am getting some VERY funny looks.

Anyone who is scared of slipping on the ice wintertrax are amazing. A friend got me some for my birthday and they just slip on over your shoe and you just don't slip. They are so good with having to walk the dogs regardless of weather - i think there are several makes but well worth investing in.

Client arriving at one so just going to rest for an hour before I think about wrapping the last few pressies.

Sending 'parcels will arrive vibes' to everyone waiting xx

I feel like just buying everything prepacked and premade for ease, which is terribly non moneysaving but I need to save my sanity.

Cyclingyorkie if they are large presents, I've mentioned on the thread earlier that my parcels are say in a city link depot in a container since 13th December that they refuse to open until after Christmas as the backlog is too great :( if I track it it still says out for delivery on 14th December so I hope your depot is better than ours, the of course they don't open boxing day etc :( so I've requested a refund and been to buy them

Triker if it helps you enjoy Christmas, why not?

Morning folks! Yes we have more snow, argh! DPs Dad is back however, got back at 8.30am. DSs are being a pest, DS2 keeps swearing which is not like him and extremely annoying. The bin men have been :D amazed and pleased! Truth be known they cash in for their bonuses people give them the week before so didn't think they would miss it.

Got mince in the slow cooker with some lentils & quorn mince I found so that can be bubbling away as I need to collect vouchers from the castle, pop to the shop for chocolates, get a headlight bulb and collect some prescriptions. I can't go until DP drags his !!!! out of bed but he's currently not moaning (keeps saying he has flu but he's fine when he is asleep or nothing to do)

    HHC 11.30-12 for me
One day I might be more organised...........
