Bathroom has been started on, the window sill and all the items cluttering that cleaned and sorted, and the bath is shining, cleaner squirted all round the loo, and sink full of stardrops solution, but before I could start scubbing there I heard TD finish and wanted to get that emptied and folded asap so anything that I could get away with not ironing doesn't need it. So finished up the HHC by folding / placing on the ironing pile as necessary, and is now sat in the trug to go upstairs and be put away.
I am so tempted to have lunch before finishing the bathroom as my stomach is grumbling now.

Cyclingyorkie if they are large presents, I've mentioned on the thread earlier that my parcels are say in a city link depot in a container since 13th December that they refuse to open until after Christmas as the backlog is too great :( if I track it it still says out for delivery on 14th December so I hope your depot is better than ours, the of course they don't open boxing day etc :( so I've requested a refund and been to buy them

    HHC 11.30-12 for me

Thanks for that! I hadn't seen your post. Tracking on city link website - the big pressie says delivery today (this is a change from yesterday!) so hopefully it will be here!

But the other trackable one still says arrived at depot on 13th December - the depot is Leeming. Can't find a phone number for them....so still playing the waiting game.

Can't cancel - it's Harry Potter on audiobook - but in French - nobody in York would have it!

Quickly fluttering in to perch for a minute and then off again...

Up until 2am last night, cleaning and stocking the fridge, putting other shopping away and then watching a Royle Family Christmas special with DS1. :(
Laid in until 10am (all of us), so playing catch-up. Quick tidy up in bathroom done, stairs cleared and hoovered. Tried to arrange collection of stuff from freeglers and now waiting for them to call back.

DH has taken DS2 to M'hell to 'get him out of the way' - the best I can hope for, I suppose. DS1 is still in bed - I've given up after trying to get him up for an hour. He'd best not ask me to do anything for him until he's started pulling his weight.

My flylady cards have arrived - thank you to everyone who sent them, and especially to natty for making it possible. I'm saving them for a nice break later.

Sammiell - feeling a bit like you today, but I hope things have worked out for you by now. I'm with triker, so it will be anything for an easy life this year (again :o).

Lady Liberty - wishing you a wonderful day with your DS on Saturday.

Kitchen's calling now (together with laundry, dishes, presents, LR, decorations, cards etc aaargh!). Going to focus on what's essential and stay calm! No chance of keeping up with fred today, so appropriate vibes for everyone.

Right - wish me luck - I'm going to get DD and DS into the kitchen to decorate the chocolate bugs we made shortly. I've just decluttered lots of cheesecake; it had to be eaten (that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it). Then after kids left kitchen going to mop floor and feel v smug!

  • Hi Ladies (& gents?),

Just popping in to say thank you for all the posi-vibes; I've been called back in for another interview (with the people that I saw yesterday) this afternoon (4pm)...fingers crossed. Have also had a call to schedule a phone interview for the 5th Jan, for a role that an ex-colleagues DH recommended me for! Fingers crossed....

A good friend that's a legal exec had a colleague in employment law take a look at my appeal letter as a favour, & I received her feedback last night, so must get that revised as best I can & sent out. All in all am feeling much more positive...

    DW unloaded & re-loaded
    WM x1
    TDx1, soon to be 2,
Still can't find the spare belt that came with the hoover though & I remember putting it in a "SAFE" place...grrr.... :-(

Dad is going to be later than planned arriving, so I have a little more time there.

Will try & catch up with Fred later, bt hugs, spoons & festive cheer to all those in need, you're all in my thoughts.

    Thanks again....catch you later! xxx

Greenbee, I'll come to yours too if that's OK - I'm happy to help out as long as you feed me nice food :)!
The more the merrier... actually... I've just though... if I go ahead with my plans to move this year, I could get you lot to come over and help sort the house and garden out in return for time away from your families and vast amounts of food :)

Triker - do what you have to. You've made huge progress with your decluttering and sorting out the house, so don't stress about christmas. Can you get the girls to take responsibility for part of the meal?

Went out - got completely random stuff, but hopefully enough to solve the present issues. Also got poinsettias hugely discounted in homebase, and some red and white cyclamen, so hopefully I can use those to cheer the place up :) Also got more coal...

House is FREEZING - need to open windows briefly, make another batch of chocolates (I have coffee, almond and raspberry done so far... so I think next batch will be ginger...) and keep on tidying up (or at least hiding the mess!)

I've sorted out several kitchen cupboards and my fridge/freezers. Nothing to get rid of but what's there is straight and tidy so I can put stuff away after shopping tomorrow. Assuming there's stuff left to buy by tomorrow....
