Not a very productive HHC I
Chased up DH's Christmas present as they sent an email yesterday saying that a few hadn't turned up so please contact them if it hadn't arrived - it's not vital though as it's also a download so that can be done from the email.
Put bedding in TD
Washed some dishes
Opened my Flylady cards and one from Leo!

Hello all; back into the fray, and part way through the jobs for today including a catch-up with Fred. Sidney finally went home about 17:15 yesterday; apparently his owners couldn't wait to see him again. Bless!:o I hope they're happy with how he's been looked after – I think they will be, he was bouncy and happy when he left.:j
We had a lovely day yesterday; we had to nip out during the morning to pick up some meds to make sure we both had enough, but luckily Central MK wasn't too bad.:) Mr LW was able to talk about Ro with a smile on his face, so that's good. He still gets a wee bit tearful at odd moments, but I think he's accepting that she's better out of the pain, iyswim. I like the memory box suggestion; also, Mr LW's favourite way of remembering people is to use things they gave us and think about the giver, so I see a few veg stews and moussakas in our future,;) as Ro gave us the cooking crocks we use for these, for our wedding. Mr LW has also asked for another nut roast with roast roots and Marmite gravy (our Yule dinner) on Saturday, simply because Ro loved Xmas, so I have of course said yes. There's also plenty more HM Xmas pud.
Mumto5 ooh, ouchy-ouchy-ouch!:( I hope your family will step up to the plate and do all the necessary tasks under your direction. Healing vibes on their way – dominant hand out of commission = not much fun!
Soappie Awww, what are you like?! Actually, I know only too well the indignity of going A over T and feeling a right eejit. Done it many times! Oh, just realised lil'me did a similar trick; bruises-better vibes all round, then.
Helen jelly Oh, it's awful when you're the victim of road rage – cos that's what it boils down to. Glad you were able to calm down a bit later on – it's upsetting when people are so completely OTT.
Mudders Hope DH feels better; I'm sure your guests will be understanding if dinner doesn't go as smoothly as you'd have wanted, but hopefully he'll feel well enough to pitch in at least. Indeed, get-well vibes for all who are sniffly, snuffly, fluey, IBS-ey or otherwise not well.:o
Ashia I get a metallic taste in my mouth very often (one of the manifestations of my lupus) so I always keep a packet of Polo mints to hand, as although they don't get rid on it completely, I do find them helpful. HTH.
PenPen what's pigs in blankets? I'm assuming it's a meat snack – is it something I can do a veggie equivalent of? It sounds intriguing!
Valli good news that the sofa is covered on the insurance – but if DS does that again, Auntie Wolfy will be round to box his ears!:p Plumbers-in-attendance vibes coming up.
LadyL it's bound to go out of my head between now and Saturday, so can I be premature in wishing your DS a very happy 21st.
Here's what's left of my list for today:
Wednesday Mayhem..- Make sure you have all the shopping you need to take you through to next week.. milk and bread especially! Done; new shopping list started, but this is for getting on Monday or Tuesday, from the local Mr T.

- mop the bathroom/s and loo's Done
- Clean the bath and shower and loo! Done

- Catch up on the laundry again.. ironing is tomorrows job! Mine's done; Mr LW's is scheduled to go in the WM tonight, as I can put it on overnight while we're between doggy guests;) (different setting; we don't do “his'n'hers” washes as such) LOL:D
- Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.. reading.. relaxing.. goggling... remember you are important too.HHYoga planned
- wash windows through the whole downstairs if needed No, it's not needed; not even any doggy nose-prints!:T
- do a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs Everything's tidy (there's only 2 of us, and Mr LW's actually pretty good as a rule) so the plan is to declutter the fuzz off my legs and the pics of Sidney off the digital camera and onto the photo album flash drive
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

My amazon parcel has arrived, only ordered on the 15th with free delivery so I am pleased. Decided that as it was for Dad from Mum it would not matter if it was late getting here (a better version of the s/w she picked up in pc world) as he would have something to unwrap even if he decided to wait for the better version iyswim.
W is currently getting prune like in the bath, having a splashing time, then we are going to have lunch and see what this afternoon brings.

Morning all
I've done all the bedrooms today, two loads of washing done (including the bedding) and draped round indoors.
I also dusted downstairs and vacuumed right through.
Then did the cat tray. They normally rarely use it but Tigger was at the vets yesterday having his teeth done (cleaned and two taken out, no wonder his breath smelt) and he had to stay indoors after so he used it. Naturally I managed to get it everywhere so luckily I'd kept the vacuum out! He's a bit subdued today but he's eating and drinking OK and he's been out a couple of time for 5 minutes. Too cold to stay out any longer.
Haven't caught up yet but I hope everyone's OK.
Lady L - I hope your DS has a lovely birthday on Christmas day and that you both have a nice time together0 -
For anyone calling out BG engineers, do please remember that a lot of them have given up their leave voluntarily to come out and fix these problems, many are driving in dangerous conditions to try to get to people so please be nice
They have also been providing advice for several years on condensing boilers and ensuring the condensate pipe is lagged (mine has pipe lagging on in both inside and outside and I've been OK so far).
sorry, I feel bad for having a rant now:o
They (and I) are very grateful and were perfectly nice to the engineer, who did confirm when they asked that lagging would help. Sadly they hadn't known the advice before, otherwise they would have done something about it.
The rant wasn't aimed in any way at the engineer, but at the lack of delivery on the promise on monday morning that because of their age and ill health issues someone would come within 24 hours, so they'd refused to leave the house to come somewhere warmer, then 36 hours later, were just told someone would come tomorrow. If they had been told it wouldn't have been until today in the first place, or even been given an update to say someone's not going to make it, they might have been convinced to leave to go somewhere warmer. Anyway I will leave it at that as I do feel chastised, :osorry:o0 -
Great news some peoples parcels have arrived, I just looked and my amazon one says still in transit from S!!!!horpe (I know now its outside the Durham depot) and my thorntons one has actually changed.... It's now saying out for delivery on the 21st, does that mean they've found the person it was out for delivery with on the 11th and he's lost again? Never know it might arrive today...
Lunch and a bin bag of rubbish decluttered. Just checked online and our next scheduled bin collections are the 4th (forecast for bad snow) and the 10th after tomorrow so I am now hoping they brave it tomorrow, only an inch of snow but they missed it last time it was the same. Checked flights and still saying landing at 1.45am tomorrow, so that's ok fingers crossed! Best go do something because it's freezing in here. One day I might be more organised...........
