This is the only wall that does not have any cavity wall insulation in it as it is stone faced and they weren't able to do it. Also it was -16 deg at 9am, it has warmed up slightly as it's now -10.5
I've tried to get hold of a plumber but with no joy - not surprisingly they are all rushed off their feet.
I've tried bleeding the rads but nothing has happened.
I'm not sure what else to do now except wait and see if they come on.0 -
OK... well ex didn't turn up for the planned work - he went for a walk to buy food apparently as the kids were hungry and that takes priority. I did inform him that it would have been polite, not to say professional, to have responded to the meeting details, but somehow I doubt he will learn. I had a meeting with another colleague instead and think we've made a lot of progress. Need to go and spend half an hour or so clearing snow off the drive in case I can get out tonight.
Have you finished it then hun, so sorry. x
Roasts made but many disintegrated in the pan so need more robust spuds!
Phone calls made work related.

I've polished the Rayburn, and just need to find some baby oil to shine the top plates
I've had a fan heater in the loft (where the water tanks are) and we've squeezed some water out :T it's running hot straight away, which is odd, so I still need to get up there and have a good look at what's going on.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
I'm so shaky - was driving very slowly to a roundabout on Mum's estate and my brakes locked and I went into a slide - signalled to another driver coming towards me and it was very visible that I was sliding as I was going round it sideways but the stupid man drove up behind me and started using his horn aggressively and gesturing at me so when we got to the junction I was so mad I lowered the window and we proceeded to have an almighty row and now I can't stop shaking and feel sick and thats all after news that Dad's consultant is having a meeting on Thursday about his scan and he is back on the drip and needs to drink more but that is all we know so back out again later to take Mum to the hospital to find out more, Dad is feeling very low and is starting to get upset all the time and crying alot and keeps talking about coming home - good job he can't manage to walk very well or I'm sure he would of tried to get out of there despite being told not to!!
Apologies for missing the thread but I'm struggling to keep up with stuff here so there is no chance I can keep up with what is going on here but love and hugs to all and especially Toots

TBH its making me realise a lot about him that maybe I ignored. He is very self-absorbed and pretty inconsiderate of others and his impact on them most of the time. What makes me sad was that he was really coming out of his shell and learning to be a happy, caring person (the colleague I was on the phone to today mentioned that when she saw him in September she was amazed at the difference in him, but had noticed him reverting a bit over the last month), and it would be a great pity if he went back to the way he was. But that's his problem, not mine.

Afternoon all
Our recycling bins have been emptied this morning, so those big lorries can get round OK.
Some washing draped round. I've iced my christmas cake and it looks crap but as long as it tastes OK....
Snowed lightly in the night and this morning, I've swept the front and back paths again and salted them. While it was snowing the birdbath stayed clear but when it stopped it froze over again so I'm keeping an eye on that.
I've written myself a shopping list for Friday using the printout for the aborted Asda delivery, putting everything into sections so hopefully I can find things. At least if I've got sections for vegetables, dairy etc. I might not forget everything!
One of the cats is at the vet today, having his teeth cleaned/possibly one removed, which meant no food last night or this morning. He was not happy. Still he's often not happy, he's like a teenage boy, all stomping about and pouting.
Still catching up, hope everyone's OK.0 -

Good Afternoon all
Hope you are all well, was -13 when I left the house this morning bbrrrrrr.
I could not get back to sleep this morning so I got up at 5 and done a pile of ironing whilst catching up with TV. I plan on doing food shop either tonight or tomorrow, in the middle of the night so as to avoid “Trolley rage”!! I must remember to wrap the pressies for the childminder/teacher/nursery teacher (they are getting leftovers of what I never sold at the craft fayre).
I spent 3 hours in my bedroom last night totally gutting it as it was disgusting, also cleaned out the ensuite so all that’s left is to change bedding on Thursday for Santa coming.
Special love and hugs as always to Lady-L, Toots & Diva x

:rudolf: hello :hello:
I am now off work until next Wednesday so delurking to fly and maybe get back in with posting for a week, though I'm already struggling to keep up with 16 pages of posts! So sorry I haven't yet read back but hugs and spoons etc where needed as I'm sure many are at this time of year.
DH is off today as well as its his birthday today. So he may be getting under my feet but would feel mean delegating, plus he's back in work tomorrow so I should get more done then anyway.
I could do with getting downstairs and the bathroom at least a bit sorted as am on alert for a parental visit, their heating broke down yesterday and I have told them to come to ours but they are being stubborn for the moment, waiting in for the repair person to visit, as they couldn't get there yesterday.
Have managed to do a massive shop that should see us into the new year so that's one thing down. Now where's that list to get on with the rest of it...HHC anyone before lunch?
Thanks of course FCC for the week's list.:santa2:0
