Oh bother, looks like getting DPs dad and step mum back from Manchester is the last of the worries... Plane to take them to Manchester was coming from Gatwick and has been cancelled so they're stuck in the airport in the Dominican at the minute - which has had rain for all but one day ..... Oh dearOne day I might be more organised...........

Morning all (just),
I was woken by Moon at 6.30 as requested, and sat looking out of the window in the vain hope that I may see something, but other than a couple of stars, I couldn't see a thing due to the cloud cover.I was up late last night too, so was really tired, and after watching a bit of the eclipse on Daybreak, went back to sleep again with Ebony.
I've only been up for about 30 minutes, but in that time, I've emptied the DW, reloaded it, sterilised my mooncup (sorry if tmi), caught up with the thread, checked my emails (got a nice voucher from Starbucks to print off for a free bag of coffee) and had a drink.
I'm off to have my shower in a minute, then I'll have some brunch. Must text friends in a minute to see when they want to meet up, as I'm in the middle trying to coordinate 3 lots of friends who aren't very good at responding to text messages very quickly.
Hugs to Mumto5 and all of the other poorlies.
Happy Yule to all who are celebrating today.
Love to all,

:santa2:Hi everyone!
We're snowed in - well, probably just our close and the road to the main road! OH walked to work this morning, after we watched two other cars attempting to get out and failing. I was thinking of going into town, as there are still a few things I need to buy, so may be walking down this afternoon. If there's no thaw by tomorrow, then I'll be persuading my two strapping lads to walk to S'bury with me - I haven't bought the turkey yet!
DS1 and I blitzed the living room yesterday, so we're all ready to put up the tree. I have somehow managed to relocate all DD's bedroom stuff out of the living room, which looks pretty tidy now!
I had a very long phone chat with Dad - noteworthy, as he's not the chatty sort! We sent a Christmas bouquet, as yesterday was Mum's birthday, she would have been 82. He was really pleased with the flowers. Last year, he ordered a bouquet, just the same way he had done for years, as he didn't want to leave the day unmarked.
I wrapped up the presents for DS1, and DD this morning - guaranteed they're not going to be up at 9am!
I don't have everything - like several of you, waiting on deliveries, but we all have something to unwrap, and the rest can wait. DS1 sold a Hornby train set and arranged a courier pick up. The man rang and said he'd be walking to pick it up, as long as it would fit in a rucksack! He arrived about 7.30pm. Our road is difficult, so he'd left the van on the main road. I shan't be comnplaining about the delivery services locally - they're really trying! OH works next to the sorting office, and says they are using outside delivery companies to try and get everything out.
Very best Yuletide wishes for Mr and Mrs Lamewolf
greenbee - I couldn't put it better than dusty.

Pretty much the same here. I need to clear the drive for OH coming home, didn't bother yesterday and he really struggled to get away this morning so must do it. The binmen have finally been after 4 weeks too.
I have just scrubbed the bathroom so that is another thing done. Going to have a break and once my back has recovered I will go and do the drive.

OK... well ex didn't turn up for the planned work - he went for a walk to buy food apparently as the kids were hungry and that takes priority. I did inform him that it would have been polite, not to say professional, to have responded to the meeting details, but somehow I doubt he will learn. I had a meeting with another colleague instead and think we've made a lot of progress. Need to go and spend half an hour or so clearing snow off the drive in case I can get out tonight.0
