Thank you - there's not really any "incorrect" way; and the thought is very much appreciated.;)
Which means the days start to lengthen?

OK so you don't really see any difference till after New Year, but it's good to know.

I was going to mop the kitchen floors earlier and the mop bucket was outside the back door buried in the snow, so I tipped most of the snow out and tapped it upside down on the railings......I didn't realise the actual bucket had frozen and it broke into lots of pieces!!!!!!
Therefore,I really need to try and get to the shops tomorrow.....we also have no meat for Christmas dinner and I have gifts to get for DSD and her boyfriend, plus vouchers for 2 of OH's nephews(these may end up being Amazon vouchers that can be printed off at home.....(genius idea!!!).
  • Hello all I have been ill in bed all day, very shivery and achy so really Hoping it goes soon.
Lamewolf light and love for tomorrow- I'll be having a celebration of winter solstice too. Not done this before but I have my Yule log, arranged some Holly ivy mistletoe and oak twigs very prettily in oasis and have some candles. Just hope I'm better!
Greenbee you have had some great advice and I hope it all works out for you.
Pigpen thank you for the list! Might be able to cross some off later in the week.
    Take care all xxx
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
    I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome! :p

I think a better idea would be to give up ironing, just think how much money it would save (board plus electric to power the iron) AND your carbon footprint will be much improved :D It's the way to go ;)

I second that! We don't iron and it saves so much time. We don't look like we've been dragged through a hedge backwards either. I just dry everything for 10 minutes, shake and hang. Voila! This year we've had the iron out twice I think.

Lamewolf - happy winter solstice - enjoy your celebrations xx
Greenbee - wise words from the Dusty one

Hugs to all those feeling ill and down.

Well, drove carefully into town and did the Christmas present snagging run. All are now wrapped and labelled and stashed away - this is just not like me - normally I'm frantically wrapping all Christmas Eve! I just praise the Big One Up There Somewhere for the snow day. Didn't do the veg shopping - but I can sneak that in over the next couple of days.

Work are saying on the website at the mo that they are open tomorrow. Mind you, they said that about this time last night!

Just sent DH and DD out to deliver a few presents and all the local cards. I write them, I buy them, he delivers them! Yeahhh!!!

I think i'm just about ready now apart a couple of things I could buy if i'm near the right shop but I'm not going to break my back over them. Just going to help DS have a sort out in his room. He needs encouragment to get rid of stuff!!!

    My weeks list is still;

    All that's left is -

    - Children... quick.. tidy your rooms
    - Have a skim through the TV guide

Jobs for later in the week
    - Change any bedding you need to get washed (doing this thursday so it's all nice for Christmas eve)

I've given DH his list of things to do and removed it from my list here. He'll either do his list or he won't and I'm not stressing over it! The worst that will happen is we'll have smelly dogs, unscraped stairs and a dirty oven - it won't kill me.

Right, i'm going into DS's room....
    Aaaaaaaa.........

Girlies get together all done, 3D snowflakes made and Chrissy pass the parcel + charades. Went better than I thought with some girls from old school and some from new and DD is happy and thanked me for setting it all up!!! They had snacky bits for tea but I feel a few peanuts, crisps and crudites wont do me for long. Might resort to beans on toast as a top up as I have GF bread for a change. No word from DH even though I text him at 7 so getting a little worried now, they surely cant still be at it.

Guess my next job is food then sorting work clothes for tomorrow :(

    Back laters

ETA He's on the way home but thats all I'll know for another 2 hours
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
