I foster my neices thru the local authority.
When children are removed in some cases they go to family members or friends of the family to see if they can be placed there0 -

Now shes agreed to it again...
You're not Daft...I had never heard of it until 2007...0 -
got mine in today just ten pounds less than a usual payment so not too much to pay back each week :j0

well I got an extra payment today, paid by the usual BGC (bank giro credit) it was about £2 less than my normal payment, I estimate that they will reduce my weekly payments by about £7 a week. I shall wait and see what my payments are going to be next to be sure.0

Am still not sure about the *may* recieve and those who will and will not get the money. Its all confusing, wouldnt it have been better to send a letter to those who would actually be affected by this change than everyone???0 -
I have not got this letter as of yet.
BUT am already worried and been on the phone to them as i think i have been overpaid for this year. Is tax credits done a year in arrears? So what tax credits i got april 10 to april 11 is for the year before wage 2 thousand and what i get starting april this year is for last years wage 13thousand. As i do not know how people occur overpayments if it is always a year behind when the tax credits form is put in they just put what they will get for the following year so no overpayment can occur.
I dunno how the stupid thing works :-( just thought i would post here and someone would know.0 -
Basically if you have had a letter I expect you will get an extra payment, then just say, the renewal in april is approx 13 weeks away just divide the extra payment by 13 and that should tell you how much less each week you will get till your new clain is sorted, it's not a big deal, either spend it or save it but you will be a few quid short a week. hth0

Hi folks,
Havent posted for a few days. Got in touch with TCO other day, wanted to know more about these extra payments. Although the advice and the info on the subject on these forums has been great, I wanted to do my own research so rang them....
The advisor told me that the extra payments only apply to those who are;
A) expecting to have a change in their circumctances OR
B)those who are going to be affected by the huge changes that are coming up in April (thresholds etc)
Is this right? And if so, what if the above doesnt apply to you (ie, you arent expecting any changes to your circimstances and you wont be affected by April changes) but you still get or have already got the extra payment?
I havent got the letter and according to the advisor, if you dont get a letter, you will not get the extra payment (which im glad about as i dont want my payments to be reduced to take it into account) but thats not strictly true as some people have HAD the payment but NO letter and thats why some people have been wondering where the extra has come from and why the TC helpline has been battered with people enquiring as to why they have got x amounts of money in their accounts...0 -
We received one of these letters back in December.
We have not received any "extra" BACS payments, however, or tax credits today have been payed as normal but with small increase in both payments.
Our usual amounts are WTC £48.09, CTC £54.67, today we got £51.17 and £55.33.
I doesnt look like we will be getting "the extra" payments as others have been receiving, but hopefully only receiving just over a £4 increase it will not effect our money too much when the payments decrease in April.
Does anyone think we may get any extra or will this be it?0
