So final payment to Halifax made - £600
And that's another card clear.
HSBC next on the hitlist. 0% runs out in October and I'm hoping to clear it by September all being well.
Also I applied for a Tesco credit card and when it arrives all my shopping and petrol will go on it to boost my points and give us more free days out. It's the first time I've applied for a credit card that won't be used as a balance transfer card, I won't run up a debt on as I'll clear it each month and that I'm using for the benefit of me for a change :TCC Debt at LBM Nov 08 - £25000+ DFD Dec 2012Second DFD May 2021Starting my MFW journey: Opening Balance: £138,000; July 2019: £135107.33; July 2024 £52974.602025 MFW #360 -
Good payday for me, payments will take a few days to clear but have sent-
£1,333 to clear my overdraft
£200 to Creation
£120 to Barclaycard
(plus interest for the month)
An overall debt reduction of £1,653 this payday. :T
It means it's going to be a tight month, have not left myself with much in my account after paying rent, utilities & food. However I have a car full of petrol, a fridge full of food and a gym membership, things could be much worse. Time for a month of free/cheap fun.
Should hopefully be below 10k after Jul payday! I never thought I'd see the day.
Keep going everyone, we'll get there. :beer:Debt at 1/5/09 £21,996 _pale_

Congratulations!
We've just applied for tesco credit card for the same reason, I think as long as we can be disciplined and pay it each month we'll be ok! Good luck.Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

That's brilliant going, well done.
And going under 10k is a great feeling so best of luck for July's payday. My debt seems to have tumbled since we got through that milestone. We've just applied for tesco credit card for the same reason, I think as long as we can be disciplined and pay it each month we'll be ok! Good luck.
Well every time I spend on it I'll transfer the same amount of money into my graduate account which I only use to syphon money off my main account anyway. Then it'll be like using a debit card and when the statement comes through, the money will be there waitingCC Debt at LBM Nov 08 - £25000+ DFD Dec 2012Second DFD May 2021Starting my MFW journey: Opening Balance: £138,000; July 2019: £135107.33; July 2024 £52974.602025 MFW #360 -

Well done everyone on June updates. I think generally people seem quiet on this thread through the month so it's nice to see people are still ticking away at those debts.
My June payments are as follows:
£50 to in-laws
£181.94 to loan
£146.62 to credit card.
Signature is updated as below - 48% of the way there though! Considering we moved house last weekend I'm pretty pleased with that!
I'm also awaiting a refund on my credit card as moving house has saved me nearly £50 on my car insurance policy so will count that as an extra payment when it clears.
Both loan and credit card now have balances less than £2000 which is also very satisfying.Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

Ohhh, I really hope I start to feel like it's tumbling! Reading people's posts which say things like that keeps me on track.
I want to have it all paid off by my 30th birthday in December so badly; but it's looking like a very tough challenge right now!
Time to do a hunt for things to Ebay I think, see if I can push it along a bit. I haven't left myself with any money to be going out with this month, so I have plenty of time on my hands for listing.
Everyone seems to be doing so well. :TDebt at 1/5/09 £21,996 _pale_

Payday tomorrow so I've managed to pay another £60 to MBNA this evening.
Not sure whether I'll be able to make extra payments on top of my budget this month - got a long weekend in London and a long weekend in Wales before August payday. Going to be a tight month to get through with the extra spends and petrol.
Will be back tomorrow with my HSBC update which is the next card on my hitlist.CC Debt at LBM Nov 08 - £25000+ DFD Dec 2012Second DFD May 2021Starting my MFW journey: Opening Balance: £138,000; July 2019: £135107.33; July 2024 £52974.602025 MFW #360 -
£730.48 to HSBC today.
I've adjusted my budget and won't be paying as much of the debt this month with the couple of breaks coming up. I think the petrol may be a killer over the next few weeks so I'm paying £100 less of the credit cards than planned this month.
I'll be back on Monday for an update when the standing order to my in-laws has gone out.
Have a good weekend.
