This is the clue - there are only repeaters in 40, 50 and some NSL zones.

    No repeaters generally means 30.

I take your point, but I had pulled out of a 60 and there was no indication of speed change. I passed the pub slowly as i said earlier and the small distance travelled after that, there wouldnt have been many if any repeaters i wouldnt have thought, had it been a 40, 50 etc.

Well, in that case there should have been a 30" sign. Some people are just unlucky. Hindsight's a wonderful thing though so despite what happens, may good driving fortune you in the future!

I said "generally". The rest of the post that you didn't quote also said repeaters are in some NSL zones.

Then says there were no speed limit signs.

But the best of it is he thought his tyres weren't that bad only 0.6mm in it.

Where does he live in a model village.:rotfl:

To be honest I am beginning to doubt they were that bad although the second opinion was they were just under. It wasn't until i got home that i read the police measuring can be less than accurate. If I had known at the time, the second opinion i sort would have been more thorough.

I think a worthwhile investment for the future would be a tread depth gauge which can be bought off EBay for a couple of quid. I have one and also a tyre pressure monitor permanently in my glovebox.
