Hi
Just an update to say that the fastbake loaf turned out OK, however, like you the blade stuck in the loaf which I have cut out.
I decided that I had just enough flour left to do a small fastbake loaf so that is currently in the BM. I am going to try freezing that one.
Also I think that is the first time I have used up a whole bag of flour in 24 hours. Just looking through the other recipes looks like I will have to stock up on some different flours so that I can try wholemeal bread.
So far I am enjoying making the bread and eating it - might have to check out the diet thread soon though, LOL

Lynz: window steaming up, mine does at the beginning and then stops, it also does it more when I've wiped it out, there's prolly just a lot of moisture in it! As for the blade getting stuck, it's only done that once for me, do you leave it the required fifteen minutes in the pan? To get it out I get gloved up then turn it upside now and then shake it like crazy up and down and back and forth to loosen the flaming thing... that seems to work quite well, it's fun too! Apparantly it is normal for it to get stuck, it's anoying tho!
Cats: Bung some wholemeal flour in and then you can pretend it's healthy, just for heaven's sake don't bake the chocolate bread then buy some nutella to spead on it, I made that mistake! ;-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Hiya,
Just to say my paddle gets stuck in the bread ALL the time - didn't question it till now ??!!?? why is that - it's gonna really bug me now !!
Thanks for the recipes added so far.
Also in response to an earlier question, to keep fresh I store in a Lakeland bread bag - great thing !

When I was in Ikea recently I saw a wonderful container for bread. It is one of the 365+ range, a loaf sized plastic container, with a grid at the bottom to keep food away from condensation.
It's supposed to be for fruit & veg, but is brilliant for bread.
I slice the loaf as soon as it is cool, with one of those old fashioned slicers, with the round blade & handle - probably don't sell those any more in case people are daft enough to stick their fingers on the blade & cut themselves! I am so hopeless at cutting bread with a knife, so I get much more - and neater - slices with the slicing thingy.0 -
chipps

I just seem to spend my time coveting new kitchen equipment
Looks like a bit of a death trap i must say I dont think my hands would last 5 mins. I used to use a commercial slicer when I worked in the tescos bakery which was significantly safer than this number! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Yes, that's about it....
... but mine doesn't have all that plastic round the front of the blade!
I got it at a boot fair years ago - almost every stall seemed to have them for sale at the time! Maybe they'd just noticed that sliced bread had been invented!!?0 -
