is it possible to set this BM to bake and be ready in the morning, or do you have to "set & go" ??

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I have a friend who has a BM and he says NEVER do this. What happens is that you wake up at 4 in the morning and smell freshly baking bread and there's NO WAY you're getting back to sleep after that!!:D

Oh no, I can remain asleep and eat. Allegedly I ate a Christmas size bag of twiglets when I was fast asleep once, and Ive definately made myself a fried egg sandwich before when fast asleep.

Nothing comes in the way of me and my kip or me and my food

There's a timer function on it Lynz, essentially, do it all as if you're going to set it off straight away. Then, instead of turning it on press the timer up button until it gets to the amount of time it would take to get to when you want it to finish. Then turn it on! That was a bit rambley so an example: it's half three, you want bread at half ten, so set the timer so it says 7.00 on the display. It automatically starts the bread so it's finished when you want :-)

I've done this a few times and it's lovely (and the marcellous bready smell didn't wake me up!)

I hope that actually makes sense! Have fun playing!

is it LOL I must have overlooked that in my excitement!

The 1/4 teaspoon measure should be there ...

...unless you manage to leave it under the bucket when baking a loaf...

..... then it doesn't measure anything any more....!!!!:o

Cake recipes from my MR FB book (I have not tried any of these, so cannot vouch for how they turn out):

    Standard cake mix

    Ingredients group 1
    3/4 cup softened/melted butter
    1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
    4 medium eggs beaten
    3/8 cup Tepid water

    Ingredients group 2
    2 cups Plain white flour
    2 tsp Baking powder
    1/4 cup Caster sugar

    Use setting CAKE

    Method
    Mix group 1 together
    Sieve group 2 together
    Combine groups 1 & 2 together
    Put into breadpan
    Select cake setting
    Push start button

  • Hi again

Feeling quite pleased with myself as I have now made my first loaf in the BM. I realised I did not have any sunflower oil so I done a sandwich loaf as this used butter. It did not turn out as large as I expected however, it does taste fine and OH agreed, hopefully will be OK for tomorrows toast and sandwiches.

I will try to get some sunflower oil tomorrow as I want to try the fastbake loaf, just so that I can compare.

Also, thanks for the cake recipes Sproggi

  • Hi Lynzpower

I think the one for softgrain bread would be OK. Let us know how it turns out.

I got some sunflower oil this morning and I currently have a large fastbake loaf in the BM. I will let you know how it turns out.
