See above, just posted about that, I have the FASTBAKE stainless one which is currently half price. Have never used the 'not fastbake' one which looks expensive. Wonder what the difference is with the Ultimate one, mine has everything that the feature says apart from only 13 hour timer & which is more than enough and the dispenser, just add the fruit/seeds myself, wouldn't want it sitting around that long anyway 24 hours eww. 110 programmes, doesn't seem right does it, might be better however, the price seems to suggest it is.
Hi Lil_me
Where is the fastbake on offer at half price ? I have just checked the Morphy Richards Website, but it only gives lists of stockists. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Yes, don't worry about the paddle. It works itself. If it falls flat then it should go up again when it starts to work.
Mine's always flat when I add ingredients and I've never had a problem.
It's supposed to be magic! :rotfl:"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

I think the 110 programmes are the different variations
eg 1lb white light crust (1)
1lb white medium crust (2)
1lb white dark crust (3)
etc therefore most BM have a similar number of programmes.
24 hour delay timer will pobably be only for basic programmes with no dairy products to go off.0 -
tried the honey, works well, can't really taste it.
Question for all you experts: If I want to make wholemeal bread, it states in the recipe book to add a Vit C tablet. I looked in Asda for these and found the tubes but when I looked on the ingredients list it said it had aspartame in it, I don't really want to "spoil" my healthy homemade bread by adding aspartame to it. What do you all do?
I switched to using "potato water" some time back.
I.e. save the water that you have boiled some potatoes in, and then freeze it in suitable portions - and it doesn't matter at all if there are bits of potato in it; in fact, you can add the odd left over potato into the recipe if you like!
Since doing this I've never needed to use vitamin C tablets and always get a nice loaf of bread. The Vit C bottle is now collecting a layer of dust!
Note: I know that there's a set measure for water to rice when cooking the stuff (about three to one I think) but if you boil up your rice in lots of water and keep it boiling quite well, the rice cooks without clumpng, can't burn, and so on - and the water from the rice can then be used to make bread tooHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Tesco have a value range of Vit C tablets. They are like ordinary aspirin tablets to look at (not chewy or flavoured). I crush one between two teaspoons and add to the flour. From memory you get 90 tablets for approx £1.
Hope this helps

i've got the MRFB, but i'd love to have a go at pitta bread.........does anyone know the amount of ingredients i'd use in the BM for the dough please?0

Pitta bread recipe I have says;
225 ml (8 fl oz or 3/4 cup) water
1 tbsp olive oil
350g (12ox/2 1/2 cups) strong plain white flour
1 1/1 tsp salt
1 tsp catsre sug
1 tsp fast action dried yeast
Pour water into bread pan, then add oil. Sprikle over flour, covering water compl. Place salt & sug in separate corners. Make a wekk in the centre of flour & add yeast. Close lid set machine to basic dough or pizza dough & press start.
Meanwhile grease/flour 2 baking sheets & set aside. When dough ready remove from machine, knock it back lightly on a lightly flured surface, then divide dough into 8 portions. Roll each into flat oval 3-5mm/1/8 1/4 inch thick & 14-15 cm (5 1/2 - 6 inch) long. Lay onto floured tea tower, cover & leave to rise at room temp for 30 mins.
Preheat oven to 230 C/450F/gm 8 put baking sheets in oven to heat. Place pitta onto sheets bake for 10 mins, or until puffed & golden brown. Serve warm...(think you can freeze these too!!)..HTH!! Let me know what they're like! Recipe from 101 fantastic bread machine recipes!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
