I've just done a shopping order on Tesco.com not even thinking about that!! Not done grocery shopping online for around 2 years, but I've hurt my back and wont be able to do it instore without help, so hopped online not even thinking!! They'e accepted my order, it's due tomorrow morning. I'm in Perth, and the streets are getting better, but didnt think about a backlog from last week!! I have my fingers crossed it all goes to plan.
As for other deliveries in Scotland, a postie friend of mine told me this morning they are working flat out to get caught up with the backlogs before the snow return later in the week, so as to avoid Christmas disappointments. Lord only knows what will happen next week when the snow's back and the country's in chaos again!!0 -
From Tesco.com
"Adverse weather conditions in Scotland
We apologise for any inconvenience, but unfortunately we are currently unable to take any new orders in Scotland & the Scottish Isles. This is due to the adverse weather conditions causing a build up of orders. However, if you have already placed an order we will do our very best to deliver your items as soon as possible."
:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Just been on TV that Tesco are still delivering grocery items, but no tesco direct orders0 -
I live in NE Fife and it's still horrendous here... however I travelled 30 minutes to see a friend yesterday and there is not a drop of snow where she is. So just to say, you might be looking out your window at clear ground and thinking 'what's the big deal?' but it all depends on where these companies' depots are located, and which ways they have to travel. As far as I know some major roads are still closed or limited.
Edit: just to say I'm grateful that at least some companies are taking actions like this and letting customers know. Yes it's a bit annoying but hardly as annoying as it would be to order something and not have it in time for Xmas!0 -
I flatly refuse to order online from Tesco at this time of year! Last winter we had a bit of snow, two deliveries were cancelled mid-delivery! This meant the cash had already left my account and they took days and days to replace it on both occasions! They claimed that the snow was stopping them from getting out - hilarious considering I had been to the local hospital to visit a sick friend and had travelled in my Dad's 1.2l hyundai - complete with its little pram wheels!January GC: £64.81/£80.00
February GC: £24.60£80.000 -
I am in Inverness and just today got my Superdrug and Matalan orders that I did 2 weeks ago:mad:. Not gonna order any more stuff as don't think it will arrive by xmas. Worried about my BrandAlley order, as I need that for xmas and don't think any chance of that arriving:eek:. No snow at all in Inverness, and there has not been any for about 5 days.0

I've ordered stuff from Amazom, the courier has had it since 1st Dec. The HDNL tracking number doesn't work and I'm slightly worried as it's for my sons birthday on Friday. Trying to get through to amazon now : fingers crossed. (Update Amazon say it'll be here tomorrow, I hope so, it's the fact that the tracking isn't working that's the most annoying as it means I have to stay in or risk missing it).
I'm also waiting for a few other bits for Christmas but at least they have longer to get here : debenhams, IWOOT M&S.0 -
I am in East Sussex and there hasn't been any snow here for over 10 days, but I'm still waiting on a package from Amazon. The trouble is it has been sent to a Scottish distribution centre! I am now v wary and won't order anything else online that I actually need for Christmas as, particularly with the snow forecast for the end of the week, I'm not sure it will arrive!Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0

Bad weather is coming later this week so I expect things to get even worse with delays. According to Daily mail there is a good chance of a white xmas.
I am off for a shopping trip this week but may go earlier rather than risk more snow I already put it off last week due to the snow0 -
Does this mean Santa won't be delivering to Scotland either ?0
