My expedited order from the 14th Dec and dispatched on the 15th Dec was split in two... half sent from milton keynes via City Link to me in London. This did arrive next day (although City Link turned up at 17.40!) Got to forgive them for that given the current problems, they were brilliant as far as i'm concerned. The other half was sent by first class royal mail (I have to assume from Scotland), and only arrived this morning - 6 or 7 days for first class package would seem to be quite good! At least RM didn't lose it!

Amazon sent a replacement via City Link for the RM items yesterday, so I now have to try and refuse the city link delivery and have them returned to Amazon. City link was meant to deliver today according to CL website (but Amazon are predicting the 29th!!!!), but the package hasn't even arrived at my local depot yet... so no idea whats going on there. It was only coming from the West Midlands!

Maybe we are expecting too much? When things work well a package can travel from one end of the country to the other in less than 12 hours and be at your door! All logistics have broken down!

my package has been waiting 10 days to get to my local depot from city link so you may have a while longer to wait

Hmmm the TIM article is not strictly true. When I called my package could not be tracked, I called on a Friday evening. The CS rep said that Amazon would not consider the parcel lost until the following Monday and that I should call back then. I asked for a replacement to be sent out, this was refused and I was again told to call on Monday.

In desperation I emailed on Saturday morning and pleaded for a replacement. My parcel was just books, and ironically the only present my daughter had asked for this year so I was understandably worried. About an hour ago I had an email from Amazon in reply to the one I sent on Saturday, basically telling me I could have a refund because they couldn't do much else. Five days to reply to an email!?

Fortunately, my packed did arrive on Sunday so my panic was over, but they really do need to get their acts together.
  • Order via a marketsellar on Amazon on Sunday evening. Posted via Royal Mail on Monday. And delivered to where I live in the Highlands yesterday morning, by the postie.
