Oh dear. I've slid badly this week and had some retail therapy along with 2 expensive nights out.....I have spent a whopping £322.57 to be precise (according to the money diary which I have been keeping religiously). Despite this I have decided that the money diary must be working because it has really shocked me so I shall be more careful this week (alot more careful!!). I will update sig tomorrow :-(JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0

HI Jet,
Can you tell me why A+L refused you the premier direct account?. Im about to apply for one and shift a £2500 overdraft and am slightly worried i may be refused...
Thanks Allanmackay................0 -
I was refused by the underwriter apparently but I appealed against it and was then accepted. I don't know why - my credit history isn't great by a long shot but I've got no CCJ's.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0

I've updated sig which is really scary now coz I was doing so well before all my upset over Xmas - however I'm just taking 1 day at a time and doing the best I can.
Today I'm going to start sorting out the house ready to move and find things that can be sold.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
Right - I'm back online after moving house and ready to get back on track. I've got started on the Olympic Challenge already and am going to list loads on ebay on Thursday unless anyone knows how u can tell whether there's a 10p listing day coming up?
My total debts are now:
Halifax Credit card: 1153.64
Halifax Overdraft: 1835.86
HFC Bank: 494.33
Total debt: 3582.67
I'm going to start posting on here every friday to keep me motivated and also on the daily spend threads.
I'm hopefully going to be receiving about 780 from my buildings insurance for money i've paid out so I will pay that on my halifax credit card coz the 0% ends at the end of the month so all systems go to clear that one.

Hi,
Don't know if anyone reads this but it really helps me to have a look through everything money wise once a week so that I can post my debts on here. It also gives me a chance to think about what I'm going to spend/save/make in the next week too
.
I've listed 13 things on ebay and have tons more to go :T
I've put my car in the bargain pages :eek: and will buy a cheaper one :money:
I've done a menu plan for the next week:T
I've done the weeks shopping for 30 pounds (me + 2 kids) :T
I've transferred money from overdraft to credit card in a bid to pay it off before the end of the month b4 0% offer ends :money:
I'm just about to join quidco :money: and change gas/electricity supplier, buildings & contents insurance and car 2 if poss (using the 340 cashback thread) :money:
Think that's it for this week!!
New Debt Totals are:
Halifax CC = 153.64
Halifax OD = 2704.51
HFC Bank = 494.33
TOTAL = 3352.48
Credits:
LloydsTSB = 82
Total Debt = 3270.48
Total Debt Cleared since May 06 = 2209.16
However, I do have a HUGE problem :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:
I had loads of problems with my childrens father b4 Xmas. To cut a long story short he broke down my front door and stole the key to the patio doors (and then the police also broke down my front door). I have always rented and had contents insurance. When I bought my house I had 2 yrs no claims bonus. However I go buildings and contents together and am absolutely crapping myself that the 2 yrs no claim bonus won't count as I'm now claiming against buildings insurance. My current insurers have been chasing for proof of ncb and I have chased my former provider (legal & general) but they keep saying they've faxed and posted it but my current insurer still haven't rcvd it. I have already had to pay 680 upfront for the door which the insurance should reimburse and don't want to have to pay for new patio doors aswell (they were too old for just the lock to be replaced)
I'm totally at my wits end and can feel the grey hairs forming as we speak:mad:JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -

Surely as the keys were stolen and the police were involved there must be a crime number? I'm no expert but I would have thought this would weigh in your favour with the insurance co.?
We were burgled last November and even though the keys were left in the door the insurance paid for new locks.
Good luck to you
