Thx Joeblack. To be honest doing that (despite the guilty feeling) has really helped and I feel like I'm doing really well now and everythings starting to come together.:D
Especially because...............................I forgot to include the funds from my betfair account when I posted earlier so I am actually below the 3 grand mark with my debts now!!!! :j
I don't quite believe it - I've checked and rechecked the figures though!! - Am just hoping I've worked it all out right and that everythings still OK after all the bills and everything have gone out at the end of the month!!:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :TJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
I've also sold a childs bike seat (that you fit onto adult bike) and a cot bed - both dirt cheap but still and extra 45 towards the kitty.
Still to sell - car (no one wants it!!! even put it on ebay - I only want 200-250 for it and it's an M reg - although no tax or MOT), bathroom cabinet, wheels ....JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
Hi,
I haven't stuck to my budget/menu plan for this week very well and must up my game over the next week.
With all the toing and froing I have managed to incur charges  .
58 with Halifax which I've got refunded :money: Had to ring 3 times though and use lots of female charm before I got there. Lloyds have charged me 30 pounds too which I need to sort out. I rang in the week and they said the branch manager would ring me back but he didn't  . I'm going to go in to branch later.
Down to the nitty gritty....
Debts today: Halifax CC 1408.63/Lloyds OD 2507.09 = - 3915.72
Credits: Halifax 132.35/Betfair 933.80/Paypal 142.03/Egg 51 = 1259.18
Total Debt Today = 2656.54!!!
I'm over the half way mark :rotfl: :T :rotfl: :T

I have paid off over 200 pounds this week thanks to the MFN challenge and all the fab people taking part/supporting that thread  This thread is my main priority as we've only got 9 days before target!!
I have closed my Egg card :j - and it was soooooooo exciting!!! Much more of an adrenalin rush than when I opened it!!
I have taken my statement in to Alliance & Leicester so they should hopefully match my Halifax OD of 2750 (will hear next week) - if they do it will be at 0% interest for 12 months. When I started this thread I was in such a pickle but now my debts down below 2750 I don't really need this facility anymore as I can just put all my debt in the Halifax OD and then use the A&L as a bill account with a weekly allowance being paid in to my Lloyds account. Does that seem like a good idea to you sensible people out there?
I've also relisted the things that didn't sell in Bargain Pages last time.... fingers crossed....
Thanks to everyone who posts on this site your help, advice and support is invaluable.

well done on getting back on track.
i really think we should start a sticky thread of where we was before this site and where we are now, to show new worried people things can change0 -
A&L overdraft has been approved :j (0% for 12 months).
This is my plan now: A&L = bill account, Halifax = Debt account, Lloyds TSB = living account (am going to set up standing order from A&L each week so I can't go over budget
).
I will update my current debt totals on friday. I think that my debt will have gone up a bit due to losing 231.03 in a matched bet:mad: due to my own error.
Then in Jan I'm going to go head to head with Annie on a 3k challenge to clear the lot :T

Oh dear
I've just closed the A&L account because they were relly doing my head in. They've messed me about loads trying to get the overdraft with them but now I've had a letter saying that the information I provided wasn't sufficient and when I rang I spoke to a really snotty lady and ended up saying that I'll just close the account:mad: .
So the plan now I think is to ......
Use Halifax as the account where all credits/debits go aswell as main debt account (2750 Overdraft) and then pay an allowance in to LloydsTSB for my weekly budget.
I'm going to carry on posting a weekly budget each Friday on here and am going to carry on being careful with my money but am putting a hold on matched betting, ebaying etc.. as it's getting too much for me with Xmas coming (and the flu).
I'm just going to tie up a few ends by clearing out my betfair account, bingo account and Paypal account on to my Halifax credit card because the 0% on that ends in Jan;) .

Right - 2007 and back on track (well nearly anyway) :rotfl: .....
Had a bit of grief over Xmas and have had to fork out for excess on house insurance and extra travel money that I hadn't and couldn't have planned for  - hence the estimated total debt. I'm going to be able to give accurate figures towards mid/end Jan when the insurance have told me how much extra it is to upgrade to a UPVC door from a wood one.
Good news however is that I've been awarded £2350 in compensation from a whiplash claim!!!!!!!!!!!!:T Cheque should come through within next couple of weeks so my debt should be right down
:j
:T :j :j :j :j :j :T
Positive steps taken so far towards a DF 2007:
1. Car insurance renewal on 6/01 - have had quotes for cheaper/better
cover :money: .
2. Money diary - have got a dedicated handbag size money diary :T
3. Olympic Challenge - going for gold - have set myself weekly goals of
£115.38.
4. Have been living at parents for past 2 weeks so food and utility bills have
been minimal (having said that, I did pay for us to go for a meal at over £60 the other day to say thanks
and I went out last night and spent a total
of about £70)
I think that's about it for now - I'm going to go and get my thinking cap on for the Olympic Challenge....
Hope everyone has a gr8 2007
