I've put the car on the intranet at work. I haven't cleaned it or put it in bargain pages - took the kids swimming instead coz I'd promised and it was too dark when we got back (and I'm knackered).

I have started buying things that I'm hoping to sell on ebay at a profit. I'm also preparing things round the house that need to go on aswell.

I'm going to clean out the car, advertise it in the bargain pages and do a menu plan for the week ahead this afternoon.

    Thx Moozie.

I've put 6 different things (inc car) in bargain pages this Fri. I've also had my Halifax OD increased to 2250. A&L say that they will match my existing OD at 0% for 12 months if I can get a statement proving that I've been in credit on 2 seperate occasions in the last 2 months. So I've transferred enough out of my Lloyds OD to put it in credit and then I'm going to move it back to Lloyds and then do the same a week later. Then when I send them in this months statement it will show that I've been in credit twice and hopefully I will be able to have all my debt at 0%.

I've also done a monthly shopping list along with a weekly menu plan which should hopefully bring the family shopping costs down to under 30 pounds a week.

I'm in budget this week too and will def make it to Friday without going over!!

Good week all round (apart from driving license being stolen!!).

Debts today: Halifax OD 1759.23, Halifax CC 1545.87, Lloyds, 587.30, Egg 797.85 but have 438.25 in Betfair account so TOTAL DEBT TODAY IS 4252 - WOW!! (wish I could do smilies!!) - I have paid 47.71 off my debts this week!!!!

I'm so glad I posted now coz I didn't think I was getting anywhere!! - perseverance I guess - got to keep going..... back to ebay....

I've just rung Halifax and they've actually increased my OD limit to 2750 not 2250 like they said in the letter!! I rang to make sure that it's all at 0% and they said that it will be until Sept 07 when it will be 0% for the first 2k. I am going to do my sums and see if I can move Egg balance over without risking going overdrawn when bills come out at end of month.

I've done my first monthly bulk shop, have done some matched betting and ebaying too. I've also readvertised the things that didn't sell in the bargain pages. I'm following the menu plan to but need to redo budget for this week as I did the bulk monthly shop on Fri (54.35) and my parents came up on Sunday so I paid for our deserts when we went out for a meal.

I have however been given 160 from my neighbour to fix the wing on my car (which he reversed in to). So I'm going to ring round every scrap yard in the area and see if I can get a 2nd hand wing the same colour that OH can fit for me. I thought I had one today after only ringing two scrap yards but it was a different shade of green. Anyway the point is that the second hand wing was only 23.50!!! Huge lump to pay off my debts!!!

I dont know where I'm going wrong because somehow my debts are 191.74 more than they were last week!! (insert very sad depressed face). I know I've moved money about (for matched betting and moved money from Lloyds to Halifax to get Halifax a/c in credit so that hopefully I can qualify for a 0% interest OD with A&L and I paid my egg card off with what some of my Halifax OD. I'm just in a pickle now and v. confused. I don't know if anyone's even reading this but I was hoping that posting it here would somehow make it clearer in my head like it has done before but even though I'm budgeting and trying my best its just got worse.

This is how it stands at the mo.: Halifax CC: 1600.89 (0% on about 1.5k of it til Jan) (stupidly did some matched betting with it coz couldn't find Debit card - I know, I know v. stupid), Halifax OD: 1033.70 (0% but still didn't manage to get it in credit as planned - needed it to be so that when I print of a months statement to show A&L they need to see the accounts been in credit or they won't match the OD - 2750 @ 0% for a year), Lloyds OD: 2459.42 (17.9% - help what have I done?????)

I don't know whether I feel good or bad but I've just made a decision. I've been saving the childrens child benefit money for when they're older and swore I'd never touch it but I have. I've moved all of it to my halifax account. I will never forgive myself if I get myself in to debt again after doing this to try and sort myself out.

My debts now look like this: Lloyds (17.9%) -2459.42, Halifax Credit Card
    -1600.89, Halifax OD +357.40 = TOTAL DEBT OF 3379.64

Have I done the right thing?

One thing you need to be careful about which I didn't pick up on before, is that I think you can only have one student account at a time with the 0% deals. And I think you've got both with Lloyds and Halifax. Now obviously, if they don't know they won't find out and nothing will happen. But if the two accounts are linked in some way, you best be careful. There are within their rights to cancel it and demand immediate repayment as you will be in breach of their T&Cs....
