GC has been abandoned due to naughty takeaways and last minute purchases
(lack of planning)!! I'm going to keep myself in line for the rest of the month and plan plan plan!!!
Change over to new bank account seems to be going smoothly so far - no charges incurred
I've sold 4 things on e-bay and made £18.07 - better than a kick in a teeth but barely covers the cost of the take-aways I've bought this week

Hi,
I've not been monitoring spend at all
but have just worked out debts to date and although not having cleared half as much as the past couple of months:o, I have now made it under the £2k mark :j:j:j:j
Overdraft = -£1920
Quidco = +£45
Paypal = +£26.57
TOTAL DEBT = £1,848.43
I've decided that working the grocery money out monthly doesn't work as well for me so am going back to weekly (£35 p/w).
I've also decided that I need to go part-time at work to make sure that DD's are getting the time and attention that they need so am expecting it to be quite tough from now on. I'm going off in search of things to e-bay on Sat and am def going to start matched betting again too.
:T:T:TI AM NOW DETERMINED TO GET DOWN TO THE £1.5K MARK :T:T:TJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
I've spent more money than I intended today

I've bought:
- new pj's and slippers (much needed - £17 for both)
- £70 in Woolworths
:o - however.... most are school clothes for next year, coats for next year, some birthday pressies for next year ... all at bargain prices and the thinking behind them is that I will save money long term
:money:
- vinyl flooring (gorgeous, £30 and much needed for bathroom) and adhesive ... which was upsold by the vinyl place for £12 :eek: ... I'm sure I could get it for a fraction of the price in the DIY shop so will go and have a look and get my money back if thats the case.
I also had to spend £50 getting gas man out to look at c/heating - am now thinking that I should get boiler insurance :rotfl::o
Have bulk cooked some mince for the week, done shopping and am making banana cakes tomorrow but still haven't meal planned - which I should have done before the shopping!!! - but didn't go over budget so will just have to make what I've got last.
I've sold a pair of boots on ebay but have spent more or less all paypal £'s on parents main Christmas pressie (last of pressies now) and some ballet shoes for DD1.
Confession time over

I've been looking through the £4k a year challenge and it gave me a kick up the back side to look at what I will spend over the next year. I can't get it down to £4k so thought I'd post it on here and aim to stick to it

List does not include mortgage, c/tax, water rates, insurances, childcare, car tax/mot/service or tv license as these will (obviously
) be kept to a minimum MSE styleee:money:

:eek: At the petrol :eek: but have to commute to work. Everytime I get a bill or make a pay out I will update the table.
I have not included travel as we will be going away later this year and have got pennies saved up in a bottle but haven't counted them yet
:D Haven't included haircuts as I do them myself or eating out etc but limit myself to £10 unnecessary a week (thanks CAFC
)
I have made a rough guestimate of my total debts at the end of this month but I don't think I've cleared any this month due to paying £165 for gorg new rescue dog and £195 to get central heating fixed (OUCH!!!!).JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
I've just meal planned because my cupboards were full but I didn't seem to have any food and have managed to make what I've got stretch to 10th Jan - with a shopping list of 9 items

I forgot to include budget for garden in annual budget - I'm planning on adding veg patches and fruit trees and bushes this year so will put it at £100 and see how I go.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -

You would think that after having been around this site for so long I would have learnt that you should check your online bank statements and correspondence ... but I've just opened Nov and Dec and found that I incurred £98 worth of bank charges
:o:o:mad::mad::mad: It happened when I changed bank accounts and some of my cheques/S.O.'s were still set up on old account .... am off to write letter to bank asking for them back when a decision is finally made by the courts.
