You are doing so well Jet, hope you get the housing benefit sorted out soon, £30 will make a fairly big difference.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Hey Jet!!!
Yeah sounds like a great idea. And you definitely shouldn't do anything to put yourself under stress.
Health is always number one priority.... we could always do a mutual support thing for each other if you fancy it. Always appreciated your posts on the unnecessary.... I'm not much of a gung ho attacker of the debts, much more of a slow and easy process, thinking about doing extras but never getting there!!!!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Awwwww ....... thanks u guys :-)
A mutual support thread wd be gr8 - maybe a mutual support thread for all those with debts under 5k. I think I struggle sometimes also coz its so hard to clear these debts but then looking at the bigger picture my debts aren't that big and compared to my mortgage they are tiny so it just seems like I'm going to be wallowing in debt forever!!!JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -

Hi!
Well after a lot of upheavel (sp?) in my life, I'm back on track and things are looking good
Thanks to a compensation pay out I've cleared both OD's:j :j :j :j
Current debts outstanding are: £344.45 HFC, £418.64 Water Arrears, £305.67 Elec/gas arrears.
I need to change gas/elec supplier, car insurance and car breakdown cover asap.
I have also started to manage my money better and am using my own version of the money pots system. Once I'm completely debt free I will use the proper one but am starting new job at end of month so will need to adjust to different budget accordingly. I'm hoping that by starting to post back on this thread regularly I will be able to do so without to much mess
 Am also going to be moving house (again ... 7th time in 6 years!! but this one's for keeps
) so this will also have to be carefully monitored as I always seem to lose control when I do move but I've done it so many times I should be a pro at it now
To finish on a happy note ... I have been saving up in a seperate account and should have enough to pay off one of my debts in full soon so this will take me well under the grand mark :T :j :T :jJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
I need to change gas/elec supplier, car insurance and car breakdown cover asap.
I've done the above list
I'm forgot that the quarterly water bill will be with me soon so I may not have enough savings to pay off a debt in full but at least I have got some savings to pay the water bill :TJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
I can't believe I've only posted twice so far this year on this thread!!! Shocking

I have had some unavoidable spends such as roofs and legal fees and my debts are therefore not looking as good as they were at the begining of the year  In January I put together a spreadsheet which has really been useful as the years gone on . Basically it has seperate sheets for income, expenditure and supplier details (e.g. gas, car insurance etc...) and has helped me to have all my info up and together and in one place. I have e-mailed a copy of it to myself so that I can access it from any computer anywhere :T
I am on pre-payment metres for my gas and electric but when I applied to BG to have my metre changed to a credit metre yesterday, I was refused!!:eek:
My spending has slid since I have been working full-time and I have become lazy and bought take-aways and not taken lunch in to work quite regularly. This morning I labeled 4 mugs in the cupboard to split my weekly budget into each week
My Mum :A very kindly did some shopping for me at the weekend so I bought some fruit today but apart from that I think it will just be milk and washing liquid from the shopping mug
I think apart from lack of self control theirs not a lot more I can do at the mo cos suppliers are at the cheapest they can be ... I suppose that is not true - Ebay and Matched betting would be a good idea but I just haven't got the time or energy to think about that right now.
I'm going to work out various scenarios tonight of part-time hours and then in a couple of weeks time I'm considering approaching my boss and asking if i can go p/t cos I need some sort of work life balance cos at the mo that's def lacking!!
Anyway my debts at mo are as follows (not inc mortgage):
Overdraft: -£2,405.40
Loan: -£414.12
Quidco: £45
Total Debt: £2,774.52
There - done it .... OUCH!!!!
I guess onwards and upwards now though as long as I keep posting on this thread I should be ok. *She says trying to convince herself :rotfl:
Off to update my sig ....JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
I've just worked out in advance (cos I know I won't get a chance in the week) what my debts will be come 1st Oct when all the incomings and outgoings have taken place ..... and was nicely surprised
Overdraft: -£2,124.73
Loan: -£414.12
Minus ...Quidco: £45
Total Debt: £2,493.85
A whole £280.67 paid off thanks to pay day
:money:
I've been sticking to my mug system really well and even have £23.40 left in them - mainly due to cancellation of dance classes and my Mum helping me out with some shopping (((HUGS))) to Mum
40p will be spent on lollies cos using up free swimming vouchers this arvo and the kids always want a lolly after and the other £23 I'll put on the electric metre.
Off to do meal plans for this week ....JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0
