Decided to have a blitz on updating, blasted google docs is playing up though! So...if you sent a google docs update or I've thanked your post, please let me know if your update hasn't appeared on the google spreadsheet. At the moment the "total" is only Jan-Apr though...
greent sorry to hear about your father.
Hi Cake, you thanked my April OP yesterday but nothing has updated on the spreadsheet. I'm due to make my May OP in the middle of next week so dunno if you want to wait and update both.

Good to see you back Cake, its quite a workload to take on this so we all appreciate it :T
You have me down at £4k OP for April but I had made a 2nd so April total should be £5,500.
Cheers

May OP will be £726.86
Had hoped for a little more but miscalculated when next month's pay will hit the bank doh! Money is now having to stretch to fit the remaining month rather than having a small surplus.
Can't wait for 1st June - not only will I be monthly solvent again but next months OP (however little) will change the leading digit which is a massive motivator and gives me a whole new challenge. I have always assumed that I would continue working for some time after sixty (albeit part time rather than full time as now) as I have a job that fortunately has always fulfilled me but now I realise is increasingly exhausting and irking me. So I'm going to go at 60 full stop - there I've said it publicly now (don't worry pensions, savings etc are sorted).
Salaried months to work from 1st June = thousands left on mortgage - can I do it without touching savings? who knows but I'll give it a dammed good try

MFW #48 reporting in
Fifth overpayment of 2011 made on the 16th May 2011
Overpayment target: £1200
April overpayment : £50
Overpayments to date: £950
My overall mortgage status is now:
Mortgage at 17/04/2011
Outstanding balance: £47,770
Estimated endowment value: £26,541 (revalued 1 April)
Investments: £15,051
Deficit: -£6,178
For my information on the damage I'm doing to the mortgage, here's the link to my diary...
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...1854517&page=3
My overpayments since Jan 09 will also save me an estimated £1,279 before my original target MF date of September 2014.
My overpayment reserve is £7,700, well over 22 months regular mortgage payments.
With the success of this strategy, the stretch target of September 2012 remains the new target (15 months to go....)
My next financial drama ids nothing to do with the mortgage; How many Olympic tickets will I get? Watch this space; in the absence of me getting less than half my allocation, I might be paying off a bit more on the mortgage.
Going to spend the rest of today catching up with everyone's successes and update my diary. Enjoy the sunshine!

hey guys.
i would like to join pleasewill try for a target of £800 for the year
some background info we have aprox 33,500 left on mortgage. Monthly payments £231 on standard variable rate. We are both students so overpaid a bit at the start of the mortgage but bills soon caught up. I (fingers crossed) start teaching in august, oh works part time and so out income will go up a fair bit then so we want to overpay as much as we can and save a little.
I have no targets for the next couple of months as our income has gone down dramatically now uni has stopped. I just want to join so theres something concrete on here. Will hopefully be overpaying atleast £200 a month come august0 -

Good Morning
Just a tiny update.
Today I am going to make a capital repayment of £1000. It will take about a week to clear. Next Tuesday my very last payment will be made by direct debit. It is due on 28th so would be too late to cancel. Then I will be mortgage free
Have a lovely day.

No 33 here with my May total...
Well, it's been AWFUL! But expected. I went on a pricey "let's not look at prices" girls holiday back in April which included a meal costing £130 each  It all went on the credit card which was paid off (full direct debit) this month.
So the damage ...an underpayment of £183.30 which when adding the reducing balance deduction is an underpayment of £311.30.
Terrible total but a one off. I'm slightly off track now for my year target but the next 2 months should be good ... birthday month and bonus month. So I should get ahead again.0 -
