  • Statement from the company:

The company this product comes from has contacted us to say it was linked to the wrong item and asked us to post a statement on its behalf:

This morning we noticed that we had sold a large quantity of Gazillion bubbles priced at £3.99. When we investigated this we have found the item is linked to a Mega Bloks item on Amazon which is a £20 plus item.

After the excitement of a potential sell out of the gazillion bubbles we realised that the item somehow got linked to the wrong item at approx 5.15pm on Friday evening. We are currently investigating this with Amazon.

We then traced where the majority of the sales came from and they are from your site https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2917572. We would not normally be concerned by a site as well known and supported linking to our products but feel we need to let you know that this is an error and we do not have the item that it is linking too.

We will of course refund all the customers in full and email them individually with an explanation. I was hoping that you would put a note on the post and close it explaining what has happened and to expect an email and refund from us.

We are very sorry and will happily offer your members a 10% discount code as an apology against any future purchase from our site https://www.xs-stock.co.uk.

It said Dispatching Soon on mine up until about half an hour ago, now it has been removed from My Orders so now not only do they still have our money, contact details and email addresses, they have also removed the feedback priviledge we are entitled to. Wow Amazon, you really are making a mess of this one, talk about digging yourself into a hole
  • Amazon refunds are very slow at the moment because of the volumes. May take up to 3 days...

To be fair this all seems like a fairly genuine error and one caused by Amazon software rather than the company.

Leaving negative feedback would hardly be in the spirit of fairness and companies like this work hard to survive.

I can't see the point in 100s of MSE members getting cheap bricks for their children while staff at a nice online toy store lose the real bricks of their homes because their employers went bust.

Sorry, but I don't agree - we all work hard to survive especially in this current economical climate. Companys cannot afford to make mistakes like this. If it takes 3 days to refund everyone, how much interest are they making from potential customers money?! Personally I am not bothered about the bricks - it is the lying and deceit I don't like and as for the company being 'nice' that is your opinion. I myself would prefer the truth instead of taking customers for idiots.
