    Statement from the company:

The company this product comes from has contacted us to say it was linked to the wrong item and asked us to post a statement on its behalf:

This morning we noticed that we had sold a large quantity of Gazillion bubbles priced at £3.99. When we investigated this we have found the item is linked to a Mega Bloks item on Amazon which is a £20 plus item.

After the excitement of a potential sell out of the gazillion bubbles we realised that the item somehow got linked to the wrong item at approx 5.15pm on Friday evening. We are currently investigating this with Amazon.

We then traced where the majority of the sales came from and they are from your site https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2917572. We would not normally be concerned by a site as well known and supported linking to our products but feel we need to let you know that this is an error and we do not have the item that it is linking too.

We will of course refund all the customers in full and email them individually with an explanation. I was hoping that you would put a note on the post and close it explaining what has happened and to expect an email and refund from us.

We are very sorry and will happily offer your members a 10% discount code as an apology against any future purchase from our site www.xs-stock.co.uk.

I got this email this morning too, still saying dispatching soon on my orders, they havent removed it as of yet. Bit gutted but nevermind.
  • The company's asked us to make a clarification:

    "Dear MSE Forum Users

I want to firstly apologise for the inconvenience caused by the error on
    Amazon.

The email I sent out on Sunday evening was premature and poorly worded. I
implied that we have never had the Mega Bloks Classic Wagon when in fact I
should have said that we had no stock of that item and it should not have
    been listed anywhere.

As MSE forum users you quiet rightly highlighted this and I can see why you
feel we are trying to "pull a fast one". I can assure you that we never set
out to inconvenience any customers or cause negative publicity towards our
company and most of all upset any MSE forum members as we are aware how
powerful your forum and members are not only for helping websites but also
    highlighting there failings.

In this instance we failed you as we never caught the error quickly and we
reacted hastily. Amazon was in no way the cause of this error and we take
    full responsibility for this error.

We are refunding all the items and liaising with Amazon on this to ensure it
is done in a timely manner.

Once again please accept our sincere apologies for this error."
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Sorry, but I don't agree - we all work hard to survive especially in this current economical climate. Companys cannot afford to make mistakes like this. If it takes 3 days to refund everyone, how much interest are they making from potential customers money?! Personally I am not bothered about the bricks - it is the lying and deceit I don't like and as for the company being 'nice' that is your opinion. I myself would prefer the truth instead of taking customers for idiots.

You're missing my point...Amazon.co.uk have your money NOT the company in question.

The company in question has probably already refunded everyone BUT the time it takes for this to process through Amazon can be pretty epic. I own an Amazon Marketplace Company and I refunded a customer (their order had been lost in post) on Thursday afternoon. I received an e-mail from Amazon yesterday telling me the refund had been processed.

I think all this talk of lying is a little over-the-top. It is merely people trying to deal with hundreds of queries in the most friendly and generic way they can afford.

The company have apologised and everyone will be refunded, i don't see why people are up in arms about this.

p.s. I agree about the legal papers :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Lying and deceit! You yourself state "Companys cannot afford to make mistakes like this" - you acknowledge it was a mistake. I suppose everytime you make a mistake you're happy for people to accuse you of lying and deceit!

As for the company making interest from your money - have you seen the interest rates recently :rotfl:

I think the company have acted as well as they can. I actually feel a little sorry for them. It's got to be their busy time of year, and they have this mess to sort out!

its the same with every misprice
    some folks accept it
    others start chest thumping
  • I think we should all just accept it as a genuine mistake and in the spirit of goodwill to all at this time of year just write it off as one of those things.

Everyone is getting their money back and I personally am perfectly happy to accept a nice apology and all my money back, there is no loss there. We all do pretty well out of this site and have grabbed some great bargains, sometime things are just genuine errors.

I agree with other posters that lots of small businesses are struggling to survive and i would hate to make things harder for one of them. Just my opinion so no one jump up and start shouting at me please ! Happy Christmas to all.
